Football Janiran Bonner highlights position moves under Matt Rhule

Good stuff from Matt Rhule today.

Janiran Bonner switching from WR to a hybrid TE caught my ear. I wrote about that, and took a look at the roster changes and additions. There was a good group of them, including a walk-on transfer QB from Ole Miss:

Baseball Live Thread BSB FINAL: Creighton 6, Nebraska 5

It's the first of three matchups tonight between Nebraska (11-6-1) and Creighton (7-7) in the battle of the Cornhusker state. After a few hundred steps and going through the maze that is the lower concourse, I'm here at Charles Schwab Field for some baseball action on this gloomy Tuesday night. Huskers are looking to bounce back after a frustrating series finale loss to Nicholls on Sunday where the bullpen gave up six earned runs in just over seven innings after starter Michael Garza allowed four.

Tonight it will be LHP Jackson Brockett (1-0, 0.84 ERA) vs. RHP Dominic Cancellieri (0-0, 4.91 ERA) on the mound. Big opportunity for Brockett - who's been sensational this season - as another good performance could put his name in the Sunday starter discussion. I like Nebraska's chances in this one, but you never know in a rivalry like this one.

First pitch set for 6:02 p.m. with televised coverage on Nebraska Public Media. Your series preview:

Saunders debuted in the top 150 in Rivals' 2025 class rankings. This is his second visit to Lincoln since Matt Rhule took over the program. He said that his first trip was amazing and the Huskers in are the mix for him. He completed 69 percent of his passes for 3,583 yards with 54 touchdowns and five interceptions in his sophomore season. Saunders was also the Gatorade Football Player of the Year for Pennsylvania last fall. He helped lead McDevitt to the 4A state title in Pennsylvania.

The soon to be national recruit is emerging as a top priority for the 2025 class.

Football Gabe Ervin Jr. ready to be Matt Rhule's "battering ram" in the fourth quarter

Matt Rhule and Gabe Ervin Jr. seemed to be on the same page Monday.

In the fourth quarter, they both want to be the guy who seals wins on the ground. Here's more:

USC and UCLA

Have we talked about what happens when those two join the conference? Nothing makes sense, How can we have a 15 member conference playing an eight week schedule? There would be 14 possible opponents and every team would miss six of them every year.

We can't do that. The conference champion would default every year to he who drew the easiest schedule. Our tournament seeding would be a joke, no one would believe the seeding. No one would believe the champion. Seriously, we can't do it the usual way. Have we heard any ideas how this is supposed to be worked out?

OT - Looking for a ranch/feedlot to work with for my lodge..

Recently I've had to head down to Seattle, and have found a steakhouse that serves Nebraska beef - and I want to do that at my lodge up here in Alaska. Furthermore, would like to find someone willing to trade time at the lodge in the deal; we would really push advertising for the ranch/feedlot as well. Could be a great deal for both of us, but the biggest thing for me honestly would be the fact that I'm able to provide this sort of item.

OT: Davis “cheated” chance to break record.

I can’t believe this. The dude had a heck of a college career. I won’t take away from that, but to say you were cheated because you didn’t get more than the 5 season it already took to try and beat a record that was set in 3 seasons. Get outta here.
