The Huskers hosted a slew of visitors for practice yesterday. Coach
Matt Rhule said before spring practices began that he wanted as many prospects as possible to get on campus and see how his staff operates.
One of the more intriguing storylines of the offseason was offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield saying that the team will utilize a fullback in the offense. Stromsburg, Nebraska, native
Izaac Dickey is the first fullback the team hosted.

"It was amazing! I got to talk to Coach Barthel a ton about what he is looking for in a fullback," Dickey said. "I definitely want to get back on campus as soon as possible. The environment that this coaching staff has brought to Lincoln is truly something special."
Kids from the state know about the rich history of the fullback at Nebraska. It's why Dickey feels so strongly about the potential to fill that role for Rhule.
"It’s honestly crazy to think about," Dickey said. "There hasn’t been a true fullback recruited since the late 1900s. To be the first one back on campus makes me hold my head high for a position that hasn’t seen the light of day in a long time. Now i’ve just got to prove to the coaches that i’ve got what it takes to bring the fullback back."
As we noted in our practice observations on Thursday practice was intense. There was a lot of intentional movement and tough on the fly coaching happening. That was also something that Dickey noticed while watching practice number three under Rhule.
"Practice was electric to say the least the coaches were bringing the energy and the players alike were too," Dickey said. "I stuck around the running backs most of the time but from what I could tell there definitely is a difference in the culture. The guys want to be great not just average. Coach Rhule and his staff also made sure to not waste anytime they went from one drill to another."
