Quarter-season stock up/stock down

What's everyone's thoughts on some of these guys 1/4 of the way into the season? These are just some guys that, off the top of my head, seemed to be a bit more hot button coming into the year.

Nick Henrich
Ethan Piper
Turner Corcoran
Jeff Sims
Heinrich Haarberg
Nash Hutmacher
Ty Robinson
Bryce Benhart
John Bullock
Alex Bullock
Billy Kemp

For my money:
Nick Henrich - Stock up. Has looked much better in this D

Ethan Piper - Stock down. I thought he played great against Minnesota but has been atrocious since

Turner Corcoran - Even. He still sucks at LT.

Jeff Sims - Stock down. Hold on to the damn ball.

Heinrich Haarberg - Stock up. You can win a lot of games with a good running game, good D and good ball security. If HH plays like last night, he provides 2/3 of those.

Nash Hutmacher - Stock up. Hes been very steady in the middle.

Ty Robinson - Stock up. Not the pass rusher the young guys are, but hes had some push and isnt getting destroyed downhill.

Bryce Benhart - Stock up. Hes not going to be elite, but he's been much more steady than years past.

John Bullock - Stock up. Him and Reimer defin lead the way at LB.

Alex Bullock - Even. He's been about as advertised. Not spectacular but has had his moments.

Billy Kemp - Stock down. Has had one decent game so far for a guy that came in advertised as a high end slot guy.

Football Opening betting line set for Nebraska-Northern Illinois

Nebraska opens as the favorite, as expected obviously, for the first time this season. But not by a ton. Huskers are just a 10-point favorite against Northern Illinois with the O/U set at 47.5 points. NIU beat a really bad Boston College team in overtime and just lost to FCS program Southern Illinois this weekend.

Football Scarlet Standouts: Nebraska's three players of the game against NIU

Offensive, defensive and special teams players of the game + my pick for best highlight play.

Offensive player of the game is obvious so I focused on my honorable mention pick in this writeup.

Football Nebraska’s fourth quarter performance shows “the culture we want to have”

Nebraska achieved one of its fourth quarter goals set out by Matt Rhule. NU rushed for more than 75 yards in the fourth quarter, mowing down NIU late in the game.

It was a night of complimentary football for the Huskers who were finally able to taste victory using Rhule’s process. Hit the link.

Football Bold Predictions: Nebraska-Northern Illinois

Back for some more Bold Predictions for Northern Illinois at Nebraska (-10.5)

I'm predicting the Husker DEFENSE to force at least 3 turnovers this week. Rocky Lombardi and his 3 picks against Southern Illinois' FCS defense + his TD:INT ratio of 32:26 all awaits for Tony White's crew.

Video Rapid Recap: Analyzing Heinrich Haarberg, lights-out defense in 35-11 win

Rapid-fire video analysis with @Greg Smith breaking down Heinrich Haarberg's debut and another lights-out performance from the defense.

Tons to unpack just on those two things alone. Check that out with the YT video link and podcast links below. Plenty more coming from tonight.

Football Postgame Notes: Northern Illinois at Nebraska

Nebraska Postgame Notes - September 16, 2023 (vs. Northern Illinois)

- Nebraska improved to 4-1 all-time against Northern Illinois and 8-1 all-time against current members of the Mid-American Conference

- The Huskers have won 36 of their past 38 home openers with tonight's win and improved to 50-10 all-time in night games at Memorial Stadium

- Sophomore quarterback Heinrich Haarberg made his first career start in tonight's game. Haarberg is the first Nebraska native to start at quarterback since Noah Vedral started games against Indiana and Minnesota in 2019.

- Haarberg is just the fourth Nebraska native to start a game at quarterback since 2001 (Vedral, Ryker Fyfe, Ron Kellogg III). Haarberg is the first Nebraska native to start and win a game since Ryker Fyfe led Nebraska to a win over Maryland in 2016.

- Haarberg completed 14-of-24 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns. Haarberg also rushed for a career-high 98 yards on 21 carries.

- Nebraska allowed 149 yards of total offense, the fewest by a Nebraska opponent since Kansas had 87 yards against the Huskers on Nov. 13, 2010

- Nebraska limited Northern Illinois to 26 rushing yards, the fewest by a Husker opponent since Purdue had -2 rushing yards on Dec. 5, 2020

- The Nebraska defense had 3.0 sacks and 5.0 tackles for loss. The Huskers entered the game leading the nation with 11 sacks. Nebraska has had at least three sacks in all three games this season. This is the first time NU has had three sacks in three straight games in the same season since the first three games of 2019 (South Alabama, Colorado, Northern Illinois). Overall, Nebraska has had at least three sacks in four straight games including last year's season finale at Iowa.

- Nose tackle Nash Hutmacher had a career night, with a career-high six tackles, including a career-best 2.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks. His previous highs were four tackles and 1.0 tackle for loss. Hutmacher had a pair of tackles for loss on a red zone drive in the first quarter when Nebraska limited NIU to a field goal.

- Tight end Thomas Fidone II caught a career-high four passes for 42 yards, including a 16-yard touchdown in the first half. This marks Fidone's second straight game with a touchdown reception.

- Senior receiver Billy Kemp IV had an 8-yard TD reception in the first quarter to open the scoring, marking his first touchdown as a Husker. Kemp had three catches in the game to push his career total to 200 receptions. Entering this week, only six active FBS players had 200 career catches.

- Senior linebacker Luke Reimer had two tackles, increasing his career total to 257. Reimer moved into 10th place on the Nebraska career tackles list, passing Marc Munford (256) and tying Ed Stewart (257).

- Northern Illinois converted a Husker fumble in the first quarter into a field goal. That ended a streak of four straight games of not allowing a point in the first quarter for the Nebraska defense.

- Offensive tackle Turner Corcoran made his 30th career start.

- Today's game captains were center Ben Scott, running back Rahmir Johnson, defensive tackle Ty Robinson and linebacker Nick Henrich
