Happy Haarberg Day

Years from now, millions of people will be saying they were at Memorial Stadium when the legendary HH get his first start.

Where will you be? What will you be doing? What will you be consuming? Etc
I hope he does well, if not then it will be a major concern going forward. We seen what Purdy can do and I for one can say that Purdy wont win alot of games for us. If he doesn't look good, then its off to transfer portal again.

May he have a good day today and put pressure to keep playing him or Sims has to rectify ball security issues, finally.

Want to see the team do well on both sides of the ball and have success.

That my sentiments as well..
Its just as well Sims is sitting out today. After two games, I don't see how anyone could justify starting him.

After Sims takes over the reins again, and likely stinks up the place against Michigan, we may as well have an idea of how the rest of the season may go.

It's amazing Rhule would have stuck with Sims had he not rolled his ankle. Yet, down in Bama, Saban tosses his starting QB after throwing 2 INT's against Texas and starts the ND transfer today. I guess its all about expectations.

Here’s what I would like to see… Haarberg play well enough that when Sims is healthy and starting, he’s on a short leash. If Sims struggles at all down the road, Haarberg goes in once and for all.
The leash will have to be very short as I believe we already know what Sims is, an athletically gifted quarterback with a propensity to turn the ball over.

For what it’s worth, if we had Notre Dame‘s starting QB from last year as a transfer student, it would be easier to pull the trigger. I absolutely get what you’re saying, though, Sims needs to see the bench to get the message that you can’t make those mistakes and expect to continue to be the starter.

I think in that case you try both Longval and Woche. It is time the Huskers start developing quarterbacks and designing game plans that give these players the best chance to succeed.

How was the last game plan not developed for Sims to succeed? Should they have snapped the ball to someone else, who then hands it to Sims, so he doesn’t fumble the snap?

I don’t know about interesting - don’t have much expectations either way.
This is going to be a very low scoring game, it goes into the 4th, close, can we ever make the play that wins it in the 4th, the odds are against us but hoping today is the day we are on the winning drive.

I'd like to see HH command the offense, take care of the football, move the chains, and send Sims to a permanent backup role.

Well sure, that would be great. I guess I was going for what I realistically would like to see. Not sure what you suggest will happen. Here’s to hoping though!

I know I’m late but where was it announced that HH was starting today? I can’t find anything online.
