Recruiting weekend

we had a huge number of recruits in for this game

Is it better to gamble and bring recruits in for a game against a team like Michigan where things can go off the rails pretty quick and the stadium is emptying out at halftime or wait until the NW and Purdue games where you have a higher likelihood of being competitive and providing a much better gameday experience?

All our H.S recruits coming N

RB's. Kewan Lacy can step foot on campus and start next year. Emmett flashed,
but he also fumbled. Rahmir probably done. Gabe has injury issues and may be done. Grant will be gone. Fleeks gone. Kwinten Ives we haven't seen what he can do yet.
WR's. All our guys coming in. Jacory, McMorris, Clark, Hall and Smith. They will have every opportunity for playing time. We lose Kemp. We lost Betts. Lose IGC. Bullock is a possession guy. Washington will be gone. Doss and Malachi are getting reps because of all our injuries.
TE's. Fidone, Boerkircher and Ismael Smith Flores will be back. Bring N the 3 studs in this class and run many 2 TE sets.
O Line. We only lose Noureli but we need quality depth. Guys fighting for their jobs is needed.
QB's. Kaelin will be given every opportunity to play. Sims may be gone leaving us with zero depth behind HH. And I'm not sold on HH and his throwing ability. Need competition. May look to the portal for a QB and a RB.
Bottom line. Playing time is there for the guys coming N and the younger guys already here.
The offense is struggling and the recruits coming N need to upgrade a few spots.
The opportunity will be there. Just need a few young studs to step up really quick.
The D I am loving. Lots of young studs already getting quality reps. They will only get better with experience.

Pregame attitude

I was pretty fired up when they showed the Nebraska sideline jumping up and going nuts (along with Illinois) before the opening kickoff. Question, what music were they playing? Does NU do that on the sidelines before home games?

I haven’t been back for a game in a couple years, but I’d love to see some up to date music in the stadium. I’m not saying to full Mikey Bo, but damn…can we play something newer than 1975?

Went to Wyoming game….

Went to the Wyoming/Fresno St game last night. Wyoming appeared to be a very well coach team and their quarterback is light years better than anything we have…and probably the O-line as well. Why can’t we have a quarterback at least as good as the Wyoming quarterback? As I watched the game I was dumbfounded by this thought… and realized what an absolute dumb ass Scott Frost and crew were when it came to recruiting. It’s hard to overstate how freeking terrible he was.

Football Rhule's "beautiful phase" has Huskers fighting for each other in win

Emmett Johnson felt terrible about his late-game fumble. Matt Rhule picked him up on the sideline and told him to keep playing.

Sometimes the offense lines up wrong. Sometimes there's 12 players on the field. Rhule said it's not perfect. And yeah, it is frustrating.

"But it's a beautiful phase, watching young people do something, learn how to win and fight for each other," Rhule said. "And that's what you saw tonight."
