We need another RB

I like Parker and Emmett and to a lesser extent Dowdell, but we need to go find a transfer RB.

We need another guy with the balance and cutting ability of Emmett but able to move a pile and run a guy over as well

I hope the staff recognizes the need there and identifies a solid one in the portal.

I felt like running back play held us back this year and getting a very good RB could mean the difference between 6-6 and 9-3 next year.

It just seems high time Nebraska has a stud RB again.

Thoughts?

What I'd like to believe

Don't know if this is true, or even partially true, but I have to wonder whether what is happening now with all of the players who are getting into the portal is that the 2025 NIL deals have been presented and the players are reacting accordingly, hoping to score a better deal before their career is over.

Look at Butler, Williams, Wallin, and Jackson. What if they sat down with these players and told them that the dollars are going to be allocated to players that they see as having better upside such as Davis, Jeudy, Van Popple, Lefotu, and Terry, and that they see the portal market and think they can use the remaining available money more wisely on a couple of targets in the portal who have more upside?

Same with Coleman and Hall, we have some pretty highly ranked young WR to pay and will be looking for one in the portal. Hopefully this was communicated and that's the reason they're leaving. The DK situation is simple math. The kid they signed on Wednesday is just way better and with DR2 coming the next year, the chance of him playing or getting paid is pretty remote.

Gbayor, Princewell, and Thompson, maybe McGahee, Shavers, Jones, and Merritt have more upside, maybe they're banking on Wright getting another year and a good portal pick who both need money.

Anyway, I hope this is happening this way. If this is actually happening at all of the affected position groups, it's a better situation than the appearance that the rats are jumping off a sinking ship.

Rhule NEEDS a Splash Hire at DC

In the last head coach search, I thought Rhule was a great hire. I loved his track record of fixing troubled programs. Since being hired, he said all the right things and recruited very well.

However, after a year in which we had middle school-level special teams, an offense that disappeared for most of the season, and game management that lost us 2-3 games, my confidence in the guy has plummeted.

Holgorsen’s mind for offense is well known; I love the hire. Unfortunately, losing Tony White as DC sucks. I would love the backstory someday on why our best assistant felt the need to take a shitty lateral move.

The Rhule era is rowing in circles. I don’t want a mediocre buddy experiment at DC. Open the damn checkbook and go get a wow hire at DC. This program needs something to jolt it back to life.

How many of these cities

I am not a big traveler, that being said I thought this would be fun to see how many of you are. My number is 12 counting just the cities that were visited for most of a day to a multi day trip destination. There are a handful that I have driven through but I did not count those as my destination was elsewhere. I know that number is low as I said I do not really travel very much and when I did it was more camping/fishing locations.

I realized a minute after that some have said in the past that they are not on twitter so added the full image.

Let's hear it from you guys:

Volleyball Full game story + post-match notes: Huskers sweep Hurricanes, advance to NCAA Regional

Full game story + post-match notes via Nebraska Athletics:

Lincoln – The third-ranked Nebraska volleyball team punched its ticket to the program's 40th NCAA Regional appearance with a 3-0 sweep of Miami Saturday night in front of 8,684 fans at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

The Huskers (31-2) held the Hurricanes below 20 in each of the three sets of the 25-19, 25-14, 25-18 win. Nebraska limited Miami to its lowest hitting percentage of the season (.058) while winning its 24th consecutive home NCAA Tournament match and 43rd straight home match overall.

Harper Murray had an outstanding all-around game, leading Nebraska in kills (9), digs (12) and service aces (2). Murray hit .412 on the match. Rebekah Allick had a match-high seven blocks and had six kills on only nine swings. Bergen Reilly dished out 33 assists and led a balanced offensive attack, as five Huskers had at least six kills.

Miami saw its season end with a 22-11 record. The Hurricanes were led by Flormarie Heredia Colon, who had a match-high 14 kills and tied for the match high with 12 digs.

Kills from Jackson and Landfair extended the advantage to 19-12. The Hurricanes pulled within four at 21-17, but a Husker block ended a 3-0 Miami scoring run. NU closed out the set, 25-19, on a Hurricane hitting error. The Big Red held Miami to .091 hitting in the set.

Set 2: Kennedi Orr at the service line sparked a 3-0 run to hand the Huskers an early 7-3 lead. A Murray ace and two Hurricane hitting errors stretched the lead to 16-9. Orr enjoyed another service run, which included an ace, along with a Landfair kill and Allick/Landfair block that put Nebraska ahead 20-10. Andi Jackson and Beason combined for NU’s sixth block of the match to end the set, 25-14. Nebraska hit .300 in the set while limiting Miami to an .081 attack percentage.

Set 3: Two kills apiece from Reilly and Jackson, along with an ace by Murray and block were part of a 7-0 run to give the Huskers a 9-3 advantage. Miami came back to pull within three at 12-9.
