Big 10 Overturns Targeting Call

Imagine that, the Big 10 sides with Ohio State on targeting call appeal. I guess they need to ensure OSU has all their key players for Penn State game. Protect that playoff at the expense of others.

Dylan Raiola

Has not thrown a touchdown pass since September 28th @ Purdue. Now relax, I am not putting all the blame on him as our OC is challenged, but he has missed some key throws in big moments. Missing two TD passes against Ohio St, played really bad vs Indiana and Rutgers. The overthrow in the Illinois game late as well. In his last 3 games he is 60% 0 TD, 5 INT. He's a true freshman that I am glad is on our roster, but our staff has to put him in more manageable situations aka run the ball more and PA passes. If he has struggles in the 1H Saturday I would put HH in more to see what he can muster (and that is not because I think he is the better option.)

Football Dylan Raiola is a replacement runner: Explaining the Nebraska QB's running style + what to expect going forward

Been waiting for a while to break this down and explain Dylan Raiola's running style. He is a replacement runner, not an attacking runner.

Read up for more:

The Curious Case of King_Kong_

Does anyone know him personally? If so, can you please visit his residence to do a welfare check on him.

He appears to be mentally ill, he's constantly posting rambling incoherent thoughts, randomly yells about buffalos. I'm very worried about him and his overall well-being, he does not seem to be in a good place.

Can everyone please join me in sending thoughts and prayers to his family.

Jeff Nixon - Syracuse OC

I'm not sure if this has been discussed, but anyone think Rhule at some point in the future ;) hires Jeff Nixon to be our OC? He played with Rhule at Penn State, Temple RB and WR coach, was hired by Rhule at Baylor and Carolina. Tight ends coach at 49ers, running backs coach for the Dolphins, special teams assistant for the Eagles, running backs coach for the Giants, Currently OC at Syracuse where Kyle McCord is lighting it up. He was on 5 NFL staffs and has 27 years experience coaching college and NFL. His son Will Nixon was a 3 star WR recruit at Nebraska, was injured his first season, played in 3 games is second season before redshirting and transferring.

Syracuse stats before Nixon at OC and McCord versus the year before in 2023:

Total offense - 99th in the country in 2023 and 22nd in the country in 2024
Passing Offense - 116th in 2023 and 3rd in 2024
Scoring Offense - 92th in 2023 and 47th in 2024
3rd Down Conversions - 63rd in 2023 and 6th in 2024

Nixon appears to have built a very solid offense around a talented QB. He currently makes $700k a year at Syracuse. Any chance he's on staff at some point? Another guy I like is Tim Harris Jr a rising star in the OC world. He took over play-calling from Gus Malzahn mid-year for UCF and has been lights out.

Recruiting JuCo OT visiting Nebraska this weekend

Garden City Community College offensive lineman Prestin Hawkins will visit Nebraska this weekend, he tells me. 6-foot-7, 295lb prospect who was originally in the class of 2021. Has double-digit offers including Maryland, Arkansas State, and Marshall. Updating his Rivals profile as we speak
