Opponent Attrition

With Brown going into the draft (and yes I know this is old news) and their loss of defensive staff (even older news), they don't appear to be as big of a threat.

Purdue and Wisconsin changed coaching staffs (one having a major philosophy change), Minnesota losing Morgan and Ibrahim and Sori-Marin, Northwestern being awful (Skoronski declaring early for draft), and Iowa?

Well F*** them!

Did I miss anything else?

It sets up pretty nice for our Huskers if there is even the slightest improvement in coaching.

Next year setting up to look pretty good!

Volleyball Nebraska adds Florida transfer Merritt Beason

The Nebraska volleyball team landed Florida transfer Merritt Beason Friday evening. The 6-foot-3 outside hitter/opposite averaged 3.35 kills per set this season on a .261 clip. She'll have two seasons of eligibility as she moves into her junior season. The Gardendale, Alabama native played in 31 matches during her freshman season, adding 217 kills, 173 digs and 15 aces en route to a spot on the All-SEC Freshman team.

She exploded during her sophomore season, totaling 348 kills with 200 digs and 38 service aces for the Gators. Throw in 92 blocks and she's another impactful front row attacker to add to an already crowded group in Lincoln. Beason is seemingly a walk-on as the Husker currently have no scholarships to give.

This is the second piece of transfer portal news for Nebraska as junior setter Anni Evans entered the portal on December 10.

Football Inside Nebraska’s Year in Review: Nebraska Offense

While the 2023 class isn’t officially completed yet — the Huskers could still add a high school name or two in January ahead of the Feb. 1 signing day — the 2022 season has been done for over a month.

Let’s take a look back and hand out some postseason hardware for the 2022 Huskers.

Scott Frost

I'm sorry to start a thread about Scott Frost. I think most of us are tired of hearing about him. My dad works in Omaha and he confirmed for me that Scott was an alcoholic. Scott was showing up late to practices as a result of his drinking issues. Dylan Raiola de committed from Nebraska because Scott was drunk and couldn't visit Dylan due to him being drunk. Ever since the Huskers fired Scott Frost, I have been trying to figure out what happened to him and why things went so bad. I finally know the whole story. My dad also said that Scott Frost's wife has left him. Therefore, the rumors that personal issues were affecting his coaching were true.

Coming full circle

I’m probably drinking a ton of kool-aid here but I couldn’t help to think of our coaching history and notice something.

Before Bob Devaney, we had probably our worst coach in Husker history with Bill Jennings. Bill had a .310 win percentage and abysmal .240 conference record, We all know what happened after Devaney took over.

Almost 60 years since Bill was named HC, Scott Frost gets the same gig. His stats are very similar to Jennings with a .340 win percentage and a .286 conference record.

Things like this usually come full circle so let’s hope Rhule can do what Devaney did after Jennings. I know it’s a stretch but I see a lot of great things in Rhule unlike any coach since Osborne. GBR!!!

NIL and Changes to the Game

I had a small College Football Coach tell me this morning that NIL is a cancer in the locker room.

“Good Luck trying to hold a team together. Every University should think real hard about their financial commitment for Coaches, and definitely before making any long term Capital Improvements.

Without changes, Fan Loyalty and participation in the game will diminish. And when the Fans lose interest, watch the adjustment in Television Money.

The NCAA won’t survive this. It’s going to be a tough next 5 years.”

Addition: this was a long time Assistant Coach in a small school in Iowa.

Nasty Christmas present

A good chunk of my fam has a stomach bug picked up at a family gathering with people attending from all over the country. I had to stay home to thaw out livestock waterers and feed the beasts so fortunately so far I haven’t gotten it……yet. I guess there’s some benefit to being a semi-retired hobby farmer. So much for the tenderloin Christmas dinner this afternoon☹️

I'm Completely Embarrassed

So many so called Husker fans on here have completely embarrassed me by their vitriol. I in know way condone his actions if the allegations are proven to be true. All the facts are not out yet, and many of you want to immediately condemn a member of the Husker family. Even if they are true, do you immediately kick a family member to the curb? What if this was a member of your immediate family, would you be so quick to judge and condemn? This man was just thrown into a position to get his dream job....and it was an impossible situation given the OL and OC he had to work with. He deserves our support and help to hopefully get his life back in order. So many assholes in the NU fanbase that don't have a clue about what Husker football is really about.
