I assume that it was Whipple's preference to play Purdy last week. Since he struggled to run the offense I am hoping Mickey will be more forceful and maybe play Smothers at QB. His head coaching audition depends on getting another win, improvement, positive perception... Mickey needs to be the man in charge.

I admit, I bought in. I thought Frost would turn a corner this season but I realized that wouldn't happen when we lost to Northwestern, struggled to beat North Dakota and lost to Georgia Southern.

After the spring game when Purdy threw one good pass, half the board was yelling that he may be our best QB 🤣🤣🤣. Now you guys want to see Smothers and think Purdy sucks ? Smothers is worst then Purdy. Let’s call a spade a spade, our QB room is average at best and there is no option after Casey.

Nebraska has only had one commitment during the 2022 football season and that was Malachi Coleman a couple weeks ago. Its understandable why things have slowed down with the coaching change but the staff has been hard at work on the trail anyway.

I think the Huskers will get good soon on the recruiting trail. After speaking with sources Monday, I’ve fired in a FutureCast for Nebraska to land 2023 Louisiana running back Arnold Barnes. The playmaking back from the Bayou visited Nebraska for the Indiana game. He was committed to Tulane when he took that visit and didn’t leave Tulane’s recruiting class until Oct. 28.

Barnes, who took an official visit to Iowa this last weekend, has rushed for 1,412 yards and 14 touchdowns through eight games. Mickey Joseph and Bryan Applewhite are leading the charge on this recruitment.
