3rd worst in FBS football, just became bowl eligible with a convincing win over Wisconsin. They have a shot at 8 Ws with wins over Minnesota and Nebraska in the final two weeks. Once the laughing stock of the nation, and particularly the Nebraska fan base, they continue to prove they are currently a much better program than we are. Even with one of the worst offenses in CFB history.

If this tells me one thing, FFS let’s hire a coach who wants to play some god damn defense first. With the lack of prolific offenses in the Big Ten (especially the West), it is the fastest way back to .500.

Along the same lines as @Greg Smith ’s thinking in his article today, win at the LOS, especially on defense. If Michigan is the blueprint, Iowa is the stepping stone to get there.

The Georgia OC I could legitimately get behind - they run a cool offense and I mean that's actually a hire I could see being supported.

What possible support is there for the hiring of his father?

Whether kids are previously committed to other schools or not, hopefully Husker coaches out on trial are showing big money signs to change minds!
Keep looking at NIL numbers from other sites and it would be nice to flip some of these kids! We definitely need a roster turnover on offense and defensive line, as well as linebackers!.. interested to see how many transfer portal and juco players end up in Lincoln in January ?!! ( big bust on Oline portal last year)

Mickey Joseph has not interviewed for the HC position? He did state he would love to stay and coach here but in the end would have to sit down and talk with his wife and determine what is best for them.

By that time it will leave the majority Frustrated, Angry and Filled with Disappointment if the hire is anyone other Urban Meyer.

Trev’s AD honeymoon period will have been shortened.

1. trev wanted to fire Frost after last season but couldn’t get approval. MJ was brought in with the title of Associate Head Coach.. The only other coach to hold that title was Frank as a head coach in waiting.

2. Trev fired Frost and named MJ HC. Trev did this even though he had Whipple, a former HC on staff. If experience as HC is so important, as many on the board seem to think, why didnt he put Whipple in charge?

3. Mikey and Busch are great evaluators of talent and we are going to need to find some diamonds in the rough.

4. MJ outlined what we need to do to compete in the BIG. He said more and better talent up and down the roster. Three deep in both lines and very little drop off. Mickey is a great recruiter and has a lot of contacts in the south. Busch is also a very good recruiter.

5. Mickey has connected with the players and takes a lot of time with each of them individually. as he has said many times, he tells them the truth. They trust him.

6. Mickey loves DONU and has a passion for this team and returning it to the top of the BIG. I doubt any other candidate will have the same passion.

7. He doesn't want to just win the BIG West, he wants to beat OSU.

Is it too much to ask for football and basketball to hold it together for just a couple weeks before completely imploding?

Looking almost certain now that there will be no announcement until after the Iowa game. Only a week away so it would make no sense at this point to announce before then. And Trev said that his timeline is to have a coach before the early signing day and transfer portal timeline. The interesting thing will be if no announcement is made on the Monday after the Iowa game. If not, it might be a bad sign.

Talk about mismanagement of a roster! I feel bad for those 4 guys who are about to get piss pounded for the next 4 weeks!! It’s not their fault.

Paul Johnson as the next HC ? Triple option guy. We would be running the ball and playing the style of football that the fan base loves. Would also be able to recruit Nebraska talent again IMO. Not saying I want it, just wanted to know how you guys felt about it ?
