Put dog down today

Had to put our Bichon down today. Tore us up. I’m only posting out of guilt. Many others have posted on here about this before. While I certainly felt sympathy for those, it didn’t dawn on me how hard it would be, until it actually happened to me. And this was a dog that came to us as a rescue of sorts. He was kind of a difficult dog, especially in the early going. Stubborn. But that probably goes with the hard life he had from time to time. He was just one of our gang who seemed to express his appreciation by, just wanting to be with us all the time. Sorry for the babbling rant. Mis the little SOB.

Football Trev Alberts on the radio: Frank Solich's return and more

"In many of our conversations, I think one of the ways he got to turn the corner a little bit, he would continue to say, ‘Trev, it’s just not me, I don’t want that,’" Trev Alberts said. "It finally donned on me and I said, ‘Frank, what if I told you it wasn’t about you? What if I told you it was about the fans, and our fans want to?’ And that gave him pause.”

Here's more from Alberts' radio appearance:

Bunting/N-Baseball

I've never been a huge baseball fan so definitely no guru here (only ever watched some Nebraska Baseball) but what gives with the random bunting by W. Bolt? Do you all think it's justified? I understand reasons for bunting like moving guys forward to get a guy in scoring position or throwing another team off a little but why does Bolt to it randomly when our bats are hot? I noticed in the Omaha, Creighton, Illinois1, Illinois2 and N. Dakota games our bats were hot for an inning or so and we were getting runs, then all the sudden or next inning Bolt try's bunting and it completely throws this good hitting team out of rhythm. I feel like W. Bolt is just like Frost in that he constantly needs to try and put his touch on the game and try's to fix things that aren't broke. Is this just coaching inexperience or just an ego thing with these young coaches?

Football Spring Practice No. 6: Press conferences with Knighton, Cooper, players (with video)

DL coach Terrance Knighton, secondary coach Evan Cooper, MJ Sherman, Malcolm Hartzog and Omar Brown all met with the media after the Huskers' sixth practice today. We'll have more coming shortly with quick hits, takeaways and some feature stories.

Knighton was first up, saying his DL group has mostly been focused on working on the fundamentals thus far. He also discussed some of the EDGE types on the roster who are working with him and LB coach Rob Dvoracek. He named Sherman, Jimari Butler and Princewill Umanmielen as a few of the guys working with both coaches who can be a standup rusher and put their hand in the dirt.
