Football Thinking Out Loud: Nebraska WR Spring Preview

Let's take a look at the Huskers' WR position prior to spring ball starting up.

Interesting room, isn't it? Interesting, but also wide, wiiiide open. Here's me thinking out loud on the group:

Nebraska Friday press conference for “special event”

From the Nebraska athletics department:

“Nebraska Athletics will hold a press conference on Friday at 1:30 p.m. for an announcement regarding an upcoming special event in the fall. Those in attendance and available to the media at the event will include Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen, and University and Athletic Department officials.”

Baseball Live Thread BSB FINAL: Nebraska 9, South Alabama 3

After a commanding 15-3 victory yesterday over the Jaguars, Nebraska goes for the series sweep today at 1 p.m. on ESPN+. We'll get to see the second start for true freshman LHP Caleb Clark who takes the mound after making his collegiate debut last week against San Diego.

Clark was okay in his first start, going 4.1 IP while allowing five runs on three hits with two walks and one strikeout. He'll look to improve those numbers today. Junior LHP Garfield Johns is the starter for South Alabama. The south paw also went 4.1 IP last week against Eastern Kentucky in his first start while allowing only one run on three hits with nine strikeouts. Johns is a transfer from Santa Fe CC in Gainsville, Florida.

Here's the recap from yesterday:

Recruiting Dylan Raiola is in Nebraska this weekend

Dylan Raiola is in Nebraska right now.

Raiola is in town on a family visit this weekend to see his uncle (OL coach Donovan Raiola), alongside his dad Dominic and brother Dayton Raiola – a QB in the 2026 class with a Nebraska offer.

We are in the middle of a dead period until Tuesday (Feb. 28) but with Donovan on staff, Dylan is not restricted by the same recruiting calendar rules as most high school athletes. He can make a visit to see family as long as it’s on his own dime, but he can’t visit with any Nebraska coaches other than Donovan.

It will be interesting to see if the Raiolas make an appearance at tomorrow’s MBB game against Minnesota. Just something to keep an eye on.

Nebraska continues to be a serious contender for the five-star QB and No. 1 overall player in the country.

Once again though, as I’ve been saying all along, there is a long way to go here. This family visit and the upcoming visit March 25 does not make him a lock to Nebraska. Georgia, USC and others remain heavily in the mix as well. Be excited, but take a deep breath.
