Jeremiah Charles was one of Rhule's under the radar recruits. He played only one year of football in HS, and we beat out North Texas for him. His performance shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone. So deservedly a lot of discussion about the offensive execution, but good lord, from my seat in the south stadium, this defense has issues now that the competition has improved. Of the 20 DB’s on the roster, they can’t find just 3 suitable backups for the injured starters? Charles was awful, IMO, believe he got pulled before end of first half. S and LBs either look like they overrun the play or fail to wrap up when they seem to be in position to make the tackle. DL no longer can win the line of scrimmage when faced against decent athletes on the OL. Princewell and Williams now MIA.
I’m with you on Frost recruits being soft and crappy. They’re frost recruits who’ve been told “no thanks” by the nfl and you’re surprised they’re soft and crappy?
Find a mirror, bud. That’s on you.
No it's not how it works, and I've never even heard of a real instance of it. The HC hires all staff. Is how it typically works. Is that the way it typically works? Or does the head coach normally make all the hiring decisions on assistant coaches?
I don't know of any instance in the history of college football where this has actually happened. The default is to have the head coach vet and hire all staff. That's what they're paid $10 mil per year to do.If you hire a new OC, I think you let him pick his offensive staff.
If you can't get to the QB before the quick throw then get the arms/hands up.If we can’t cover with 7, what happens if the blitz doesn’t get home? I think white is playing the long game. Make teams go 10-15 plays and hope they make a mistake to get us off the field.
The opponent also matters. UCLA is a quick throw offense. Tough to have an effective blitz if they’re going 3 step drop and getting the ball out. Ideally we could go man, press them at the line and blitz. But I don’t think we have the guys to play press
You are not going to fire anyone especially multiple ones. You thenhave GAs filling in and that never works. The only thing Rhule should do this week is change play callers .
Why be a douche bag for no reason though? They’re frost recruits who’ve been told “no thanks” by the nfl and you’re surprised they’re soft and crappy?

Haven’t seen us blitz like I thought this type of defense was built for..
C’mon man…Tell what I’ve said is wrong? I even gave a shout out that Iowa beats the teams they’re supposed to. Good on them.Ohh NO here we go again with what the Clarkeyes have ever accomplished.
He definitely spins it that way. I don’t know what’s worse going 5-7 or 6-6? You go 5-7 and you know changes will be made, if they go 6-6 Rhule will prop that up as tangible progress and retain everyone. It won’t matter anyway because we still won’t be prepared to compete in the BIG next year.It appears he starts every game with a shiny new shovel.
You might want to look up there record 1962-1980 during a time when they SUCKED.I'd take their suck over our suck. We haven't been "good" for nearly 20 years it seems.
I don't think getting a head start on the coaching carousel is going to make any difference at this point. There's nothing attractive about a program with the lack of success and existing challenges that fires a coach with a 5-4 record with three games left in his second season.Get a head start on the coaching carousel. Name either Tony White or Glenn Thomas as interim HC. Honestly what do you have to lose.
