Who Runs the Offense we Want?

I don't buy the notion that you have to run a certain scheme to be successful in the B1G just because everyone else is. Satt is just a bad OC. I think you could win with the option, the air raid, or anything in between with the right coaching staff.
It's not the scheme. It's the execution. And also X's and O's you run out of it. And then it's the Jimmy's and Joe's. Therein lies more criticism for Satt and Dylan-- ever since Illinois blitzed us on 1st down in OT and then continued to blitz because they saw how NU reacted to it. Now, everyone is stupid not to blitz us. But what I would do is simply talk to Frank Solich. A lot of good teams out there are running offenses that have roots in what Nebraska was doing in the 90's. We need a mix of under center I formation with spread concepts. We need to simplify. Run fewer plays with a few counters off them. Get really good at executing everything that we do. Only then do you add more wrinkles.

I'm still envious of what Illinois did against us. Pass to a tackle eligible for a score. Then line up a slot receiver at fullback and run him into the flat for a score. Both plays shouldn't have worked- but Illinois could do it because their players knew their sh*t and Nebraska didn't stop it because do not.

If Nebraska tried to pass to a tackle eligible, our tackle would trip and fall. Or we would call it against Iowa and they would cover him.

USC kickoff set for 3:00

Huskers +8.5 underdogs.
Wow. What a huge point swing. Nebraska goes from opening as a 9 point favorite (or something like that, I forget) at home to UCLA to a 8 1/2 point dog at USC. The value is clearly on Nebraska as betters overreact to recent results. But damn, who in the hell wants to bet on this team right now? Can we hold USC to 21 points or less? And somehow score 14?
