Welcome, "Outside Eyes"!

Who says where the money if any is coming from to pay Rhule’s colleagues to evaluate the program? It’s an EXTREMELY normal and healthy practice in business and academia to do this. I believe Dannen and Rhule want confirmation of what they already believe needs to change. Critics of Satt should be happy they’re doing this. Usually these deals lead to personnel changes.
Agree, it also give Rhule some cover if he wants to demote or dismiss Satt.

Bears making a huge mistake.

You dropped your NFL team so you could have free rein to talk smack on the internet without recourse. Lame. And weird. You clearly still follow the NFL pretty closely so I doubt your interests changed.
Wrong. I had the realization that:

NFL = strength of your QB
College = strength of your coach

I enjoy watching Baker Mayfield and Josh Allen. Neither are likely to win a SB, but that’s fine because my personal identity isn’t tied to their organization, the way my tuition dollars to Nebraska are.

The fact that Rhule had a play sheet the second half and it was so slow getting play calls in tells me that Satt has already been put on the clock. I think Rhule was very involved with the offensive play calling in that second half.
Likely true. I read an article 5 years or so ago about Urban Meyer. He seemed to be mostly hands off on the play calling, but he would directly tell Tom Herman (OC) "I want to go deep at least 2 times the next time we get the ball."

You can bet your ass Herman dialed up a couple of long ones the next time they got the ball. Maybe that's why, among all his negatives, Meyer was a huge success. When he told an assistant something, he expected it to be done. Period.

Welcome, "Outside Eyes"!

I had a landscape construction business for over 25 years. I would enter my designs and installations into competitions to help see my flaws with outside eyes (three judges per entry). It hurt to see some of the remarks and criticisms, but I was too close to the flames to see the fire. Once I swallowed my pride and licked my wounds I got better as a designer and an installer. (I did win some awards)

I am sure Ruhle is too close to fire. Hopefully he accepts the critiques and implements what he hears. It takes courage and faith in your system to accept criticism. Smart move.
Definitely a smart move. Every good CEO and leader gets outside perspective when things are going both good and bad. If you are standing in the trees, you can seldom see the forest. He is too close to it. Good move. Can't wait to see what changes.

Yeah, those six straight run plays ran out of the I with dedicated fullback scream Rhule. However, when they got inside the 5 that had to be all Satt.

Solution

It’s been 25 years since a conf championship. How long do you need? People think Neb is better than teams like Indiana. They can recruit their 500 mile radius and take the leftovers - their leftovers are better than the 500 around Neb. It’s not changing and what top AD or coach wants to come here and try and recruit? Every good coach or recruiter will leave after year 2 or 3 of living on a plane.
It’s a lack of talent. Even if you get the number 1 kid, let alone QB, we screw that up. 8 wins is our playoff and 9 wins every 15 years with a pancake schedule is out NC.

All Rhule has to do is get in a room with Satterfield and say, if you don't establish the run against USC I will 100% fire you on November 17th. And when Satt asks "Well gee coach, what do you mean by establish?" Rhule should say, "that's all I'm saying, you decide and I'll let you know how you did."

This is football, not rocket science. Rhule keeps saying "gotta run the football" and then he repeatedly lets Satt do otherwise.
