Did anyone else see Rhule say in the pre game interview that the team's Championship mindset doesnt necessarily carry over?

I wanted him to take over RBs... last time he was in charge we had Rex & Ameer!Would have liked to see Ron brown take over receiver coaching a while ago, guarantee they'd know how to block

No one at IU thinks this kind of season will be the standard. That’s why we are enjoying it so much.He is most certainly having a great year. He is tight with the coaching staff he brought from JM and some of the players that transferred. I’m curious to see him do it year in and year out at Indiana. It remains to be seen.
I think its simpler than ppl want to admit.I think the biggest thing that is wrong with Husker football is the impatience and angst around the program. These kids feel the pressure and it brings out the worst in them, collectively. This team is still 5-4 and seemingly every realistic goal that they should have is still out there. But at this point, it doesn't seem likely. The fans have had 15 years of this crap and lost their patience two coaching staffs back. It's a tough situation and this team is not handling it well.
Side note- They need a new OC and special teams coach but that's not the biggest problem in my opinion because that's an easier fix.
Glenn Thomas & Ron Brown... everyone else is goneWhich 1/3 of the offensive staff would you keep?
Lol, imagine if that was our schedule. Indiana is a "must win", "expect to win" and they might have been the best team on the schedule and would have beat us by 40 at home with a new coach. Talk about ripping the band-aid off. We would likely have been 1-6 and Rhule almost surely fired by the end of next year. In the current age of 40 teams in a conference unbalanced scheduling is a real thing...Our schedule could not have been friendlier outside of the back to back road games, but even OSU was looking ahead when they played us. No reason we couldn't be 8-1 with a marginally better offensive staff.I agree. We have a lot of issues. This loss was about us. But to say “they’re 2-5. They suck” is misleading. Which of these games they lost would we win?
Indiana
@LSU
Oregon
@penn st
@minnesota.
I’d argue none. And we would lose at Rutgers.
This is a dose of reality and most posters here will not like it.It is tricky...my son is a D1 Bball assistant coach at a major university and the coaches and families are like a big family. They need each other for support and it helps the wives deal with the pressure and atmosphere. It is not like working at JP Morgan when you can furlough a guy and there is no issue. That is why it comes from "above" in many cases.
My kids who are out of the house starting their own lives have NEVER known Nebraska to be anything significant! They cannot understand why year after year I get excited for a team that let's me down and while simultaneously kicking me in the nuts... My daughter is basically engaged to a Georgia fan who's entire family is locked in to that team... She'll watch a game with them all the time but wont watch a Nebraska game...I have noticed that the old football alums seem less engaged. I don't feel like you here from Jay Foreman, Jason Peter, etc. It seems like the old guard have aged and alums from the last 15 years don't remember winning so much. Nebraska football is truly dying a slow death. Younger generation is not engaged with this losing team IMO.
Had to check that “never finished in the top 10 at the end of any season” claim. You are way off. I remember them having a really good run in Kirks early years and there was actually a stretch they finished 8th in the AP three years in a row. Plus another couple other years. They looked impressive especially on the ground and lines last night

When a head coach DOESN'T fire coordinators as soon as possible, it means he believes his players' abilities are the issue. Ruhl very well may believe Satterfield is a good to great OC, but the Husker players are not performing.The Nebraska "Press" needs to Sack up and as the Hard Questions.... In Fact, First question I want asked in this weeks press conference is WHEN will changes be made to this coaching staff... not will but WHEN... don't let him skate out of this... I want these guys to throw just how piss poor this coaching staff is in his face and make him answer them
Which 1/3 of the offensive staff would you keep?I bought into the Rhule Hype... I also gave frost too much leeway as the combination of Riley/Covid was a Heck of a Mountain to climb out of... that said, late in Year 2 to have a team that routinely performs this bad is inexcusable...
As was stated perfectly in another thread: If this staff couldn’t get this team prepared for Indiana off a bye, and couldn’t get them prepared for UCLA after an inspiring performance against OSU… Zero point zero reason to believe they’ll come out and play well against USC.
If changes aren't made to 2/3 of the offensive staff it's over... Send Rhule packing because it proves he values friendship over performance and that he's been lying the whole time.... He sat Dowdell for a game because of a fumble but hasn't held his assistants to any kind of accountability when they suck...
Yes, I'm salty! as Husker Nation the entire fanbase should be F'n Pissed!
