I worry about Barney. If the Canes go far in the playoffs and offer big NIL$ he could be gone IMO.balanced post.
we need a new OC
HH should be starting (at this point in time) and easing DR into things.
WR blocking is indeed an issue, as is actually catching the ball.
I understand that they are trying to give DR the time to solve his own issues, but he has gotten progressively worse, and they run the risk (albeit small) of damaging him. I'm sure his confidence is not where it was at the beginning of the year.
When you get locked in to only 1 player as your entire focus, at the expense of the team, you start to look a lot like the Frost/AM situation.
I am not saying DR has the same internal confidence problems that AM had, but as some point you wonder if the poor production is rubbing off on other players too.
You can't build your team and culture around 1 guy.. the rest of the team notices this and you lose cohesion as a team. I think we are at that point now. Rhule must address this, or you will start to see an exodus of good players to the portal.. in fact, I'm almost certain this will happen now, regardless of the outcome of the remaining games.
The Colorado fans kept saying that crap and I laughed at it thinking this team was far better than CU being the Superbowl this year... Oh how I was F'n wrong.... and now us fans are regulated to just hoping we get to a shitty bowl game... Makes me want to VomitThat was Nebraska's super bowl. They beat Colorado - that was the end of the season for this team.
No need to worry, though. Year 3 is when Rhule magically turns it around3 last year
Rhule lost to Sparty’s interim coach in addition to Deion and Fickell
Until Satterfield isn’t calling plays it’s depressing how worse this offense is regardless if we have a freshman QB starting..I honestly feel like we'll do better against Moss than we did against Garbers. Garbers beat us badly with his scrambling and accurate throws. Moss seems a bit banged up. Also, the odds of a completely healthy Tommi Hill are pretty good after a bye week, which helps against their receiving corps. That said, none of this matters if the offense continues to sputter itself into oblivion.
We’re not just heading there, we ARE there. The T.O. and Devaney days are long gone. The team hasn’t won a championship since 1999 - 25 years ago! Heck, this team hasn’t even made it to a bowl game since 2016. That’s the longest active streak among current 1A teams. For the record, the "we are becoming Minnesota" references aren't comparing team to team today. It's a generalization for a team that was once relevant a long long time ago but no longer is. Minnesota had conference and national championships way back when. But they are now generally irrelevant in college football, despite a nice little winning season and meaningless bowl here and there. Feels like the road we're headed down too.
MOST PERFECTLY STATED POST! Makes me sick what these "Coaches" have done to this team Over and Over and Over again for 20+ YEARS!!!! Enough is Enough! We’ll fvck it up. 100%
If this staff couldn’t get this team prepared for Indiana off a bye, and couldn’t get them prepared for UCLA after an inspiring performance against OSU… Zero point zero reason to believe they’ll come out and play well against USC.
I’m sure Rhule will say that they need to stick to the process. But we’ve heard Pelini, Riley and Frost all say that same shit. How about you process some of these underperforming assistants and get some real professionals to replace them. That’s the process I want to see right now…
This is exactly why Rhule doesn’t deserve to coach here. Making a hire like that shows he has no respect for this program, he only wants to line his pockets even further.McGuire is someone who will probably be a good coach.... in 20 years. He was a college qb who has zero experience coaching wrs. I think he got coffee for the defensive coaches in Carolina. So literally no offensive coaching experience. Rhule thought we would win enough for him to grow into the role. Wrong.
Well history has shown when you risk your neck for another too often, your neck is likely to get slit also.Rh
Rhule has his buddies to look out for.

They found some things in the run game last night and their WRs are going to be a challenge. They schemed up some wide open chunk plays last night. 😕

So literally no offensive coaching experience. Rhule thought we would win enough for him to grow into the role. Wrong.Don’t think Garret is worth a shit myself.. basically the whole offense coaching staff needs to be replaced but that isn’t going to happen with out a Rhule firing which isn’t going to happen after 2 years..
I hope Rhule is willing to make necessary changes in coaching and philosophy. 3 last yearThis year. Plus two last year. Um, that would be a total of four 😡
