Key Returnees for 2023: Marques Buford, Braxton Clark, Myles Farmer, Isaac Gifford, Malcolm Hartzog, Tommi Hill, Tyreke Johnson, Tamon Lynum, Javier Morton, Quinton Newsome, Phalen Sanford, Rahmir Stewart, Javin Wright
Additions: D’Andre Barnes, Dwight Bootle, Corey Collier, Ethan Nation, Syncere Safeeullah

Malcolm Hartzog was one of the team’s biggest bright spots. Not only did the then-true freshman score Nebraska's first touchdown off a blocked punt since 2009, but he also tallied three interceptions. Two of those helped secure not only Nebraska's first FBS victory in a year but a morale-boosting winning streak following Scott Frost's exit.

2023 Outlook

For all the benefits a more vicious attack up front brings, Nebraska's defensive backs should be licking their chops over the prospect. Hartzog should have plenty of opportunities to boast the best ball-hawking skills again, along with an overabundance of competition.

This group could prove to be a strength. Need to at least slow down the run up front though for that to matter. Hopefully our front 6/7 will be prepared to do so by fall.
