But the 10% increase in season tickets would have no impact on you financially. Warm fuzzies for the team winning doesnāt count šthey impact me greatly.
there's a direct straight line from donations to overall talent level on the team.

financial impact doesn't even register on my radar. I donate to 1890 from afar and am glad to do it.But the 10% increase in season tickets would have no impact on you financially. Warm fuzzies for the team winning doesnāt count š
Unrelated, but, at some point the buyout money will end for the Pelini-Riley-Frost mistakes. In my world of accounting, every time you completely pay off a million dollar debt that is non- producing is the same as adding 2 million dollars to your bottom line.I'm not bashing anyone who wants to line the pockets of the bureaucrats/stuffed shirts/admins while intentionally not giving a cent to the players when buying a ticket.
it's their prerogative.
Hummm you do know every time you purchase an item you are paying the labor to produce it.yeah i'm not down with forcing people to participate in that....others mileage may vary.

this 10% fee is a donation to NIL. it goes directly to the players.
the university doesn't need any more donationsYeah, thatās exactly my point. I already donate to the university and I already donate to 1890. If you involuntarily make me donate more money to NIL Iāll just quit voluntary donations to NIL. So, a net loss for NU. Ask me to donate, donāt force me, or otherwise live with the consequences.
the university doesn't need any more donations
requiring that for season tickets is an absolute racket
if anything should stop, it's that and not NIL
Yes you could if you have willing buyers. The average fan knows what is going on with the new rules on paying players and realize this is a new and additional expense. They can either add it in a fashion that explains where the money is going or just raise ticket prices and get about 100,000 questions why.NO WAY!!!! This changes everything!!!!
I honestly don't see the connection here, but could I use that line as an excuse to charge an addl fee for, everything?
No it is not NIL. Itās going to the NCAA negotiated lawsuit that will be allotting approximately 20 million per year per school of revenue sharing expense that universities will have to pay. That is what they are trying to fund.this 10% fee is a donation to NIL. it goes directly to the players.
has that been officially ruled on?No it is not NIL. Itās going to the NCAA negotiated lawsuit that will be allotting approximately 20 million per year per school of revenue sharing expense that universities will have to pay. That is what they are trying to fund.

It has to be approved by a judge but all indications are that it will be. Worst case scenario is the judge says it should be more.has that been officially ruled on?
So you think ZERO dollars donated to the Nebraska Athletic Fund never directly or indirectly benefited athletes and it all went to administration and employees??If so you're clearly mistaken. If I am misinterpreting this then my apologyI'm not bashing anyone who wants to line the pockets of the bureaucrats/stuffed shirts/admins while intentionally not giving a cent to the players when buying a ticket.
it's their prerogative.
How does the "rich get richer" work out in this situation? I am guessing that out of 80,000+ paying people, most are not rich. Someone saves a few bucks on a ticket, that doesn't make them rich.you're probably right.
there are a ton of cheap bastards with zero vision out there.
which is why the rich always get richer.
cheap people are always in "save a penny" mode, causing them to hand wring over stuff like thisHow does the "rich get richer" work out in this situation? I am guessing that out of 80,000+ paying people, most are not rich. Someone saves a few bucks on a ticket, that doesn't make them rich.
Just think if Nebraska did this now. After all these years of filling the stadium even with a bad product on the field, all the sudden the product is better so the admin says, hey lets soak those suckers a few more bucks.
I think one can be cheap and rich at the same time.cheap people are always in "save a penny" mode, causing them to hand wring over stuff like this
rich people are always in "make a buck" mode, meaning a 10% uptick in something they enjoy won't infringe on their continued participation
I think one can be cheap and rich at the same time.
my taxes paid to the IRS is not a "donation." likewise, if i'm forced to pay 10%, its not a "donation" any longer.this 10% fee is a donation to NIL. it goes directly to the players.
hey king. exercise some caution please on this.you're probably right.

You make more bucks by saving pennies sometimes. The fact of the matter is ticket holders have been footing the bill except for endowments. NOW WITH NIL everyone can contribute unless you were providing county scholarships or ham sandwiches. 5, 10, 10000 bucks it's all good now. With tickets you can't have them unless you pay X and then they might let you have them.cheap people are always in "save a penny" mode, causing them to hand wring over stuff like this

400th straight sellout on FridayGreat idea. If Tennessee keeps winning and makes the playoff, the ticket sales will keep rolling. Same thing would happen in Lincoln. Losses are the only thing that would make this move fail.
The sellout streak was on life support with donors footing the bill with reduced costs. People were voting with their wallets and it wouldnāt continue to sustain itself if we had another losing season this year. IMO.400th straight sellout on Friday
Even Ls wonāt stop us from buying tickets!
20 years of purgatory hasn't but it really was on life support after the Frost stint. Many people including myself had finally had enough after being the eternal optimist. Fortunately I think we have THAT GUY400th straight sellout on Friday
Even Ls wonāt stop us from buying tickets!
You donāt answer the question, oh well, that is par.cheap people are always in "save a penny" mode, causing them to hand wring over stuff like this
rich people are always in "make a buck" mode, meaning a 10% uptick in something they enjoy won't infringe on their continued participation
This money is NOT being sent to 1890. This money will be spent on paying players as part of the NCAA lawsuit negotiated to provide revenue sharing. It is totally separate from NIL. They are anticipating a 20 million dollar a year pool for each major university to provide payments to players in all sports.Iām not really sure where I sit on this fence, I can definitely see both arguementsā¦ I think my idea is rather just add a ātalent feeā or what ever you want to call it of 20 bucks per ticket, donāt call it a percent but just 20 bucks flatā¦ matching that out for 89000 fans thatās over 1.7 mil per game getting sent to the 1890. in todays game thatāll get you what a decent starter on the line some where?
At the end of the day the NCAA or some other governing body needs to step in to cap these salaries. Right now this looks like the NFL draft pre slot value, where rookies were coming in off the street making more than established starsā¦ something will have to give here to keep this from getting completely out of hand
