Initial reports were the collision occurred at 300 ft give or take. That’s not official. You defended the chopper pilot and said she was relying on others and you don’t think they were above 200 . That maybe accurate yet . You also said it’s everyone was Short staffed ( chopper and tower) which is true. If the chopper was above 200 that falls directly on the chopper pilot. If it falls turns out the chopper was then it’s totally the Chopper pilots fault and she murdered 66 other people.

They would have a problem getting oil to the east coast. Not sure if they have the rail capacity to get enough crude east to meet domestic demand.

No. You should give more clear communication. You can’t be vague in a congested traffic area.
Rarely is there a single point of failure. Just like any accident, especially in aviation, there are at least a couple links in the chain that were broken. You can’t only look at one element, place blame, and think you fixed the problem.
I agree the chopper wasn’t at the correct altitude, but again, especially with aviation, you need to correct all issues so it doesn’t happen again. Vague communication bites you in the ass more often than you think.

But in very very few instance has it ever produced a net positive result. China has made us very wealthy too. You really think these American industries want to pay the wages and prices associated with production of some of the goods that chinese companies do for them at pennies on the dollar? Who's going to foot that bill in the end? The very people who voted to lower prices in the first place. Makes no sense. Yet it does when we look at the history of the person making the decisions.
I was watching the scene on local DC TV minutes after the fire trucks and ambulances went by my hotel. Initial reports were 500’. I gave the 350’ estimate from a retired Blackhawk pilot who had flown that route many times. That was how high she estimated the chopper would have had to be to hit a landing plane. It clearly was not that high nor did I believe most pilots would come in that high because of the proximity of the runway end to the river. Yesterday a NTSB official said that the control tower data recorder indicated the chopper was at 200’ give or take 25’. I’m not sure what the margin of error is for their instrumentation but it must be in the 25’ range. That would mean according to their data the chopper pilot had not exceeded their ceiling.
Would a more experienced commercial pilot make their approach from a higher steeper angle knowing about the chopper traffic? Had this young guy ever landed at Reagan? Was he even aware there could be crossing chopper traffic? All questions it would be interesting to know answers to. None of that would change the assignment of fault.
Canada’s problem has been their lax immigration enforcement. That’s what the tariffs are largely about with them. As far as trade goes, they look out for themselves first. It’s about time we do the same.

Its not the responsibility of the Airline pilots to be an aware of chopper traffic its the chopper’s responsibility to be aware of tje airline traffic its the airline’s air space. Thats why when the chopper took of and contacted the tower they were told of heavy airliner traffic ahead.
These particular tariffs were designed to force Canada and Mexico to start doing their part in border security. It worked on Mexico. We will see what happens with Canada.
We're probably not going to bat 1000% on all these but we'll do well enough it will have been worth it...not sure how anyone could argue it hasn't already been really successful....and I find it fascinating to watch certain people lament the strides that have already been made.

If it is truly about border security then it will absolutely work. How do I know this? Because they already offered to meet and figure out how to increase border security but we ignored them. They offered up multiple solutions.

Helicopters shouldn't be running missions in Class B, C or D airspace. Absolving the military of this is supporting them continuing this insanity.

Hasn't it been reported that the flight recorder from the plane indicated an altitude of 325' plus or minus 25' at the time of impact? It sounds like they are trying to determine the source of the discrepancy, but the general consensus is that the control tower altitude data is less reliable.
One video I saw had a helo pilot say that entering a barometric pressure reading of 29.82 inHg instead of 29.92 inHg (which is the pressure at MSL) would result in about 100' difference in baro altitude. I'm not a pilot, so I have no idea if any of that makes sense.
I'm not a huge tariff person but they are useful tools. Fair trade. Not always free trade
