OT- DC commercial plane and Blackhawk collide

Get what from Google? Canada clearly doesn't want this fight, but they have more leverage then they should. Resource rich, small population country. We have a lot of integration. They could absolutely hurt our economy with oil, lumber, electricity, etc.
We have more than Canada. Of course they don't want this fight

It was an NTSB spokesperson who stated it. She might not have been authorized to make that statement They’ve recovered the flight data recorder now from the Blackhawk so that might reveal more. One thing people forget that instrumentation can only be calibrated to a certain degree of accuracy. I’ve used altimeters hiking in the mountains and while they may give you an altitude within a certain number of feet, there’s a margin of error. My point on the altitude was I was pretty certain that the original report of 500’ was way off. I suggested the choppers altitude was going to be way closer to 200’ than what was reported and was ridiculed.

Then some insisted the chopper wasn’t following an approved route which was also untrue. There were multiple factors that contributed to this disaster and the pilot of the chopper is not solely to blame. It appears that the plane pilot who was in fact very young and inexperienced bears little or no responsibility. IF he had seen the Blackhawk a couple of seconds earlier maybe he could have been a hero. Maybe not.

My interest in this is personal in part because I landed on that strip 30+ hours before the accident and because of my family connections to the occupations involved. I heard the sirens and the rescue units flying by my hotel room. I saw Blackhawks over that river when we arrived. I saw the wreckage when we landed. It’s personal.
It’s not personal with you because you know nobody involved. And the Pilot of the CRJ is absolutely the ONLY person involved in this accident that bears no responsibility. And all the shit that have talked you better hope and pray the chopper wasn’t above 200 ft .

Holy Shit.

Not sure what the projectile was, but at the rate it was moving it didn’t matter if it was a cotton ball. 2 inches lower and that old man was RIP’d. Absolutely insane!

Why would I hope and pray the chopper wasn’t above 200’? Exactly what “shit” and personal insults did I make in this discussion? Answers: none and none. I want the facts and and am not wishing for anything other than that 67 people hadn’t lost their lives.

This is probably a little above your level, so try to stay with me. Your guy is upset because we have a trade deficit with Canada. Why do we have a trade deficit? Because we need the resources they have for our economy. We absolutely need to get along with them.

What's sad is honestly believe that to be true.....

This is awkward, but why do think they run pipelines with oil down to refineries in the U.S.? I'll answer for you. To make gasoline.
Below is a map of Canada’s energy pipelines, many of which cross into America. The Energy East line, which was supposed to be built, was canceled by Canada’s leftists due to “climate issues.”

Canada's threats to withhold or tax oil from Canada are hollow since even pipelines servicing Canada dip into the USA before coming back up.

You said you are going to trust a 6 yr chopper pilot over a young inexperienced pilot flying a subcontractor plane. Again the chopper asked for and received visual separation.yiu also said maybe the plane came in low. It doesn’t matter the it’s tje plane’s airspace above plane below the plane and on both sides. Initial reports were the collision occurred at 300 ft give or take. That’s not official. You defended the chopper pilot and said she was relying on others and you don’t think they were above 200 . That maybe accurate yet . You also said it’s everyone was Short staffed ( chopper and tower) which is true. If the chopper was above 200 that falls directly on the chopper pilot. If it falls turns out the chopper was then it’s totally the Chopper pilots fault and she murdered 66 other people.

Regardless, you believe tariffs are good for the US? Just trying to figure out where some of you stand.

They would have a problem getting oil to the east coast. Not sure if they have the rail capacity to get enough crude east to meet domestic demand.

It’s one of the few weapons we have tomake sure unfriendly countries aren’t taking advantage of us. China has always manipulated currencies and markets to screw us over. We’ve made them very wealthy.

how . The chopper pilot asked for and received visual separation. The tower asked multiple times if he saw the Plane in question he answered yes every time. Once it’s granted it’s the choppers baby . I think they were talking two different planes but again it’s the choppers baby . And tje chopper was nearly 200 ft above the legal flying level at the time of impact. Have a nice evening.
No. You should give more clear communication. You can’t be vague in a congested traffic area.

Rarely is there a single point of failure. Just like any accident, especially in aviation, there are at least a couple links in the chain that were broken. You can’t only look at one element, place blame, and think you fixed the problem.

I agree the chopper wasn’t at the correct altitude, but again, especially with aviation, you need to correct all issues so it doesn’t happen again. Vague communication bites you in the ass more often than you think.

You consider Canada unfriendly? You must not like good fishing. I think anyone who has interacted with actual Canadians would think this is stupid.

But in very very few instance has it ever produced a net positive result. China has made us very wealthy too. You really think these American industries want to pay the wages and prices associated with production of some of the goods that chinese companies do for them at pennies on the dollar? Who's going to foot that bill in the end? The very people who voted to lower prices in the first place. Makes no sense. Yet it does when we look at the history of the person making the decisions.
