way OT: hydroflouride

My son worked for 8 years on the Orion project design team. He has received multiple promotions but was denied a promotion a year or so ago because promoting him to an open position "wouldn't advance diversity". He was extremely qualified to do the job. The guy interviewing him literally said he had virtually no shot at the position solely because he was a white male.
My son ran into that too with the govt contractor which I'm not at liberty to say EXCEPT for the fact that he was a vet. He got the job but was soon disillusioned by what he saw. Dei hires that knew and did absolutely nothing and weren't qualified for their jobs. When he and other team members complained ( they were under pressure for results) about dead weight, they were told nothing could be done about said dead weight because of race.

Needless to say he's transitioned out and found better situation

Are we really having this debate again? Wind turbines, solar farms, e vehicles are all great and growing technologies. And will almost surely present less problems once fully built out than previous generation technologies. Not claiming they're perfect, but they're more than good enough.

And sure you need storage. I don't like battery energy storage. I prefer pumped storage hydro (PSH) and flywheels instead and think they're more scalable solutions.

Asking for a friend…

Do you agree with anyone on anything?

The Keystone is open and has been for years.
The construction of the KXL segment of the pipeline was shut down when Joe took office. Cost thousands of jobs & part of the energy independence dismantling. One of the main contributors to Russia being able to declare war.
