OT-Bourbon drinkers?

Question for all the bourbon drinkers on here. How do you drink your bourbon? Straight. No ice. Mix with something? Blasphemy. Manhattan, Old fashioned? I like on the rocks. Pour over glass of ice. Then drink as the Ice melts it dilutes it.

Usually on the rocks, but sometimes neat.

I bought my buddy a fifth of Maker's 46. They changed the bottle. It is now cheaper, lighter and looks like their regular line. It still has the wax covering, but now it covers a screw cap. Booooooo!

He bought me tix for Boston Bruins/Dallas Stars game. Those are my two favorite teams. Bad ass.

Neat sometimes otherwise over a single large cube preferably filtered before frozen. I bought some square cube molds online from Buffalo Trace. The round ones are easier. I was at a dinner party one time where the guy had a machine that would instantly freeze a cube. I think it used liquid nitrogen.
Same. Though I do love an old fashion and a black Manhattan.

Finally got a new fifth of Buffalo Trace! Buddy and I went to Total Wine for some beer. We stop by the Scotch and the bourbon aisle. He asks the employee if they have some Glenfiddich. Nope. Been stiffed by the supplier for three weeks. I jokingly ask about Buffalo Trace since it always is in short supply. Delivered small quantities, usually during early mid-week. Employee points to shelf. They have 750ml, 1L and 1.75L. Limit 1. I don't want bigger than 750. Buddy gets his own fifth... and some Moosehead.

I feel for you guys. Never realized how hard some of that stuff is to get in other parts of the country.

We plowed through most of my Eagle Rare over Xmas. Time to order something else from the Buffalo Trace distillery.

I have never bought bourbon before but have enjoyed an occasional old fashioned and whiskey sour. My wife bought me some Angostura bitters for Xmas but I only had a few ounces of Templeton Rye in a bottle that someone left here one time. I finished that off with my new bottle of bitters. Today I grabbed a bottle of Four Roses Small Batch. Seemed like a decent bottle to start out with. Haven't tried it yet.

It’s very solid. Others in that price range are Russell’s 10-year, Makers 46, Coopers 100 proof. All very good for $35ish

Buffalo Trace falls a single position to third, a house pour in 15%. In 2018, the brand’s parent-company, Sazerac, pledged $1.2bn to boost the brand’s production over a 10-year period which, to date, has led to a 50% increase in whiskey production. Time will tell if this growth impacts the brand’s popularity in our polled bars.

All right all you experts. I need a recommendation for a retirement gift bottle of bourbon. Budget is 100 dollars.

Uncle Nearest 1884. Nice start, a little astringent at the end. Nearest was the first Black Master Distiller in the US (maybe the world?). A pretty honest whiskey in that it keeps its clarity all the way through except for that slight astringent note at the end, but then that also makes it remarkable.

Ditto who said angels envy rye. That Caribbean rum cask is amazing.

Just picked up the Bulleit 10 yr today, never seen it before but looking forward to trying it.

A buddy gave me a bottle of Blantons last night for Christmas. I’m not sure he had planned on that but I gave he and his wife a 7lb whole tenderloin. I’m starting to feel like a Bourbon horder.
Good for you!!! Checked with Allens, just to see what happening with Blantons! They said all is reserved ahead of the arrival! Wonder dinglefritz, where its made and production levels! Thank you ahead! DP

HBK is a better guy to ask those questions. I just drink it😉. Google is your friend. Blanton’s is distilled at Buffalo Trace along with several other bourbons.
