OT-Bourbon drinkers?

I just happened to be at my local watering hole talking to a Vietnam vet I met yesterday when I spied a bottle of Blantons on the shelf. I had never had this elusive juice. I bought myself and the vet a shot at 10 bucks apiece. It was very smooth and tasty. I must acquire a bottle now.
Best bourbon I've tried. Hands down. Just impossible to find in Lincoln.

Did you get to do either of the tours? We were only able to do the shorter one, they weren't doing the more in depth on when we went.
We’re trying to get one… if not we’ll just do a tour at woodford.

It was very good but I'd have to see the price per bottle first. I've found several good bottles for my tastes under $ 50.
This has all the different kinds where I order from.
It's not cheap.

Woodford is a nice tour. The tasting at the end is the best one I've done, as they actually "teach" the basics of how to taste.

My favorite actual tour was Makers Mark, worth it if you get a chance. Beautiful property and lots of interesting info. Four Roses was nice too, just not as good as the others. Wild Turkey the bus was broken when we stopped by so didn't get to take that one.

Got you beat. I sip it neat out the bottle.
Like your dear old grandad... and you drank alone

I'll be sipping on some 18-year Whistle Pig tomorrow during the super bowl

I do like Maker's, too
I just bought the 18. I have a store pick that’s a 17 year that is the best rye and one of the best bourbon/whiskeys I’ve ever had. It’s better than the boss hog I tried. We blinded it vs Thomas Handy and the 17 year won. I hope the 18 is as good

"Teach" is a bunch of bs invented by snobs. GTFO. I have shot glasses, rocks glasses and Glencairn glasses. I prefer to sip it neat out of a shot glass. Nobody had to teach me how to do that.
I'm not saying I "taste" every time I drink by any means. I usually just drink neat out of a highball glass, no fancy tasting or anything. That being said, some of the techniques to try to bring out some of more subtle flavors do work. Don't need to be a snob to acknowledge that.

Decent haul today in Phoenix. Actually scored an Act 9 and Act 10 at the same honey hole for $150/ea. MWND just hit all the TW in the Phx market, but as far as I know, they all sold out.

Bourbon hunting season is upon us.

I’ve got a friend out in western South Dakota who likes high end bourbons. He was lamenting how everything has gone to lotteries to get it. Fortunately for him somehow he got hooked up with a large liquor store in Texas who sells him Blanton by the case and saves back some higher priced bourbons for him to pick up when he visits family down there He has 11 bottles of Blanton in his cabinet right now. It’s good to be his friend.

Very nice! Have never seen MWND in the wild but am hunting for it hard here in Texas. Those Russel's bottles are typically very good! And you can never go wrong with Elijah Craig BP at retail.

MWND showed up in Nebraska this week. Price increased $25 or so from last year. Still limited quantities but if you are looking for it, now is the time to visit your stores and ask.

Lucky bastard. I've been running out of different new good bourbons to try. Just been sticking with the basic Jim Beam Devil's Cut and JB Black. Also, got a bottle of 12 year old Scotch. The Dalmore. Not bad on both. But I'm sticking with ordering Blanton's online. Best of the best.

Just toured Angel's Envy in Louisville. They had us taste two different kinds of chocolate in between sips, which surprisingly drastically changed the flavor of the bourbon.

Most stores in Lincoln don’t get any allocations. I would tell you that those that do are only getting bottles, not cases every 4-5 weeks.

Also, there has been more blantons around than ER lately. Not sure why that is.

I've asked multiple stores. You are correct. Few bottles here and there. Usually serve at the bar.
