NFL Cuts

Young people think they are broke because they are used to having expensive phones and huge cellphone bills, mocha frappes, etc. They also think they can wait for 2.5% interest rates to come around. On top of all that they don't want to live in a little 2 bedroom while they build equity.

Illegals might be driving housing shortages in some areas, or even alot of areas, but I know they aren't where I live. Politicians kept interest rates down for way too long and gave people a false sense of normal. Now people refuse to give up that hope, IMO.
Where I live because of the fruit industry there is a large influx of both legal and illegal immigrants. 30% of our population is Hispanic. In the school system they are the majority at 55%. As a result, our rental market has always been high with very low vacancy rates. 1-2 %. This does have a ripple effect on the community. My RN wife up until last spring did the bulk of orientation for new employees at our hospital. Mostly nurses but other medical professionals as well. She will tell you that the hospital misses out on getting many good people because their common complaint is they cannot find good housing in our area. It is too high and just importantly, so little is available.

I'm a Vikings fan and I know Bagent struggled some at times last year but the talent is there. Considering where he came from I think his play last fall was pretty good. I've watched him a little bit this fall and think he's just getting more comfortable. The Bears felt good enough about him to not bring in a veteran free agent as a backup. Hell IMO II think Bagent made Fields expendable so they gave him away. You could pay Bagent a fraction of what Fields was getting and Bagent is a better passer.

This upcoming draft for qb's looks pretty bleak as well. But inevitably teams will reach and take guys way earlier then they should.
Drafting QBs is such a crap shoot. Usually the guys on the best teams get drafted early and in actuality they might not turn out the best. Hell Bo Nix looks like he might be one of the better guys out of this last class and I thought that was an incredible reach.

Pickett did not look good in the Eagles' preseason games. Tanner McKee was better IMHO.
I guess I try to watch the process and take in to account who they're playing with and against. I like Pickett's accuracy and I didn't see McKee play. I thought Pickett looked pretty good when I watched him. You put Pickett in San Francisco and he I think he would be better than Purdy. We'll see. I'm a sucker for QBs who throw pretty balls and hit receivers in stride.🤷‍♀️

All cuts have been made, but not all teams have released their list so we could get word on a few more Huskers.

Reminder that teams cut about 37 players today, but in the coming days will sign 16 or 17 players to their practice squad. So some of these guys will catch back onto a roster.

I would think Gates and Davis would land somewhere. IF I was Sanford though I would probably be polishing up my resume for the real world.. That training camp money was nice for a summer vacation job.

Millenials and Gen Z are still living with their folks. The birth rate of our younger generations isn't replacing the deaths of our elderly. The increased demand is almost exclusively driven right now by immigrants.
Millennials are in their 40s. They’re not living with their parents.

It will improve as a few guys really come on. It’s a hard position to catch on unless you’re elite. You’ve basically got 64 jobs and the majority of the number two guys are just washed up players that are somewhat reliable but have been in the league for over 10 years. Really makes it hard for a new guy to show what he has . He has to come in and crush it in the limited time given

Good chance Sanford gets signed to their practice squad tomorrow. Real good chance from what I have been told. Good kid. I am rooting for him.

I see they waved him so they expect him to clear waivers and then they would be able to put him on the practice squad. I hope it happens. I have tailgated with his parents and he stopped after a game. He is a great kid .

The inflation rate has cooled dramatically in the US now but the inflation caused previously by the spending is what has killed workers and people with fixed incomes. The biggest issue I've seen for my fixed income older sister is housing costs which have been dramatically inflated by demand from the illegal influx of immigrants. Entry level housing is virtually non-existent or priced so high most can't afford it. I just rented a house to a critical care nurse and her husband. They couldn't believe I would rent it to them for what I did because all the other places they looked at were dumps and were more money. She's a fairly recent grad and they can't swing buying a place at current prices. I think it was Yale that just published a study that estimated the number of illegal entries at over 30 million people. They're living somewhere and they're displacing US citizens.
The cooling rate is still as high as the highest inflation rate during the entire period of the 2010s through 2019. And it's on top of the prior years which are a cumulative of around 20% over 3 years (typically that number is close to 6%). Whether people like the politics of it or not, all the insane spending proposals of Harris will cause even greater deficit spending which translates into even higher inflation if she wins.
To make matters worse, that 2.9% is after the Fed already raised rates as high as it can safely go, and now it has to lower rates to stave off rising unemployment (the numbers of which were wildly misreported to make the economy sound better than it is). Inflation will very likely rise in response. At what point are we all tired of being told to pretend our lived experience is just not accurate and that everything is rosy. It isn't.
We have entirely cut out dining out, coffee shop visits, gym memberships, etc to keep our budget in the black. We did so to keep our kids in activities and to allow us to keep our family vacations, etc. And my wife and I make decent combined income. We just had a much better and more easygoing budget in 2019, even though our wages have gone up some.

You really can't expect to just say something like this and not have someone point at you and laugh at the crazy guy. PFF has Purdy ranked as the 13th best QB in the NFL and lists his strengths as timing and accuracy. You know, like what you imagine Pickett is.

Inflate or die. Both candidates talk about weakening the USD, and so how does that possibly help you or any of us by lowering our already pathetic purchasing power?

Kudos to you and your wife for taking out things that are wants and not needs. It has to suck for so many conscientious people to have to cut back on some elements of their life that WAS due to taking care of your money in the first place.

Sounds like you and the Mrs. have your priorities in the right place.

Purdy is playing for the head coach who is probably the best guy I've ever seen at getting the most out of his QBs. Pickett has a stronger arm than Purdy and has similar athleticism. I love what Purdy brings to the table. That said, I believe Pickett has been put in horrible situations behind awful O lines with an awful OC. Purdy is in a tremendous situation for a young QB with maybe the best RB in the NFL and incredible pass catchers to go with a very good O line and a dominant left tackle. Lots of QBs would flourish in San Francisco right no.

Laugh if you want. I'll admit it's kind of a hot take but often stats don't tell the whole story. I like watching Purdy but he STILL has those WTH moments he had sometimes at ISU.

You know some of every single demographic anyone can think of.
I'm old and have 3 "kids" with lots of friends. Over the years through church and my business interests I've gotten to know literally thousands of people. I've been in the same area now for roughly 40 years. Living where I do is WAY different than living in Lincoln or Omaha. Drinks with friends often devolve in to a discussion of other area families. On top of that I was a scout leader for a large boy scout troop up until about 10 years ago. I know lots of millennials.
