Men’s Basketball

Kind of like thinking a “nice win” in football is watching a Qb throw for less than 50 percent and get 3 passes batted down per game (and 2 + turnovers). In the end, it’s all in the eye of the beholder.

Eeko_O🥶😬🫣

I’ll never understand why people feel the need to make shit up when their point can be proven without it

Be better, Rick. Like your brother. You’ll never be as good as him.

24 batted passes? Give me a break!

You guys. So full of hope and promise. Like Peanuts characters, being tricked constantly and ever hopeful of success. Our coach is a Nigerian prince with an email account.
I don't know whether to pity you or laugh out loud.

Probably not. But you’re right - I should be better. To be honest, everyone should strive to be better.

I'm enjoying watching Providence absolutely de-pants Wisconsin. If those dorks never won another game, it would suit me just fine.

I think Providence scored a really good head coach in Kim English. Always impressed me as an assistant and solid recruiter.

Their defensive inensity is impressive. Will be interested to see them play the Jays.

Big East will be among the best hoops leagues yet again right alongside the big 12

SEC will be a lot of fun to watch too

Anyone watching Iowa/Creighton? First time I've really seen Traudt. Looks like a big slow guy that stands around the perimeter so far.

I know it’s early in the season but I’m not at all impressed with Ashworth. Just doesn’t look like a Big East caliber player.

Krikke looks like a good get for Iowa. Keeps it simple and can knock down those mid-range shots.

I felt like getting Mast was a good addition. The games I watched Bradley play last year (cuz I had money going) he was always their best shooter. I think he’s going to be a difference maker.
Mast is best big-man we've had since Maric, IMHO...

I know walker was undersized but I was a huge fan of him
one of the nicest and most genuine athletes I've ever met. Just wasn't dominant with his size... Mast has some talent around the basket. Soft hands, good foul and perimeter shooter, will be a huge asset. Allegedly.

I think they're both good, and it's pretty damning that we haven't had multiple guys of their caliber at ALL times in the program. I mean, they're nice but not great. Anyway, put a gun to my head and I'd take Walker over Mast just for his ability to pass and finish. But still, we need 3-4 guys like them, not one.

walker never seemed to miss. But you are right, would have been nice to have someone to spell him with no drop off.

Juwan Gary making his season debut tonight looked to be in form with 19 points. Mast led the team with 5 assists. Brice Williams was a very efficient 17 points, 9 boards and 4 dimes. He is looking smooth out there

idk what it is but Brice is so emotionless, does not even look into the game. He just goes to work and looks good doing it. Very experienced, coordinated and controlled player.

Matar Diop needs to remain a Husker because I think he will be a dude in the future

covered the 18 point spread with a 21 point victory

I find it hard to helieve Creighton is a top 10 team after watching most of that game...but maybe Iowa is better than I thought to....who knows. Both teams played faster than I was expecting...good win for the Jays though. No doubt.

Gard is hanging on by a thread.

The team needs to not fall in love with the 3's so much. They win these first 4 by an average of 50 with less settling for 3.

I think this team has some nice parts. Its just going to take some time and Hoiberg needs to reel them in more at times.

seemed to have a lot of trouble getting to the rim against Ryder the other night. Nothing was opening up for them.

I’ll agree somewhat. They have shooters taking mostly good shots so far from 3. If they can‘t get it to fall a little more, maybe go away from it just a little, but you’ve gotta take some.

Some good games today. Kansas bounced back against the Vols, and Marquette and Purdue tipping off soon.

Creighton looking okay, but I think Colorado State has a shot at knocking them off tomorrow.

Looking forward to Huskers vs. Duquesne. Could be a good test.

Should have put my money where my mouth was and bet on the Rams today - they are on their way to taking Creighton down.

Rams aren’t that talented overall, but they are scrappy and well-coached, and Isiah Stevens is a stud.

Playing some great D, I'll give them that.
Jays are going to struggle against teams that really dig in on defense. Alexander was awful in this tournament, but he’ll bounce back. Ashworth, on the other hand, just doesn’t look like a Big East-caliber guard to me. I think McDermott got sold a bill of goods there.

Yeah, he hasn't looked good at all this year. On the other hand, Nembhard was awful for Gonzaga last night vs UCLA.

Yeah but I think Ashworth is a pretty significant downgrade. Big East has some guards who are going to light him up like a Christmas tree. I could see it going badly enough that Farabello ends up starting.

Dude is 30 years old and married with a family.
Mac seems to think getting less athletic was a good idea.

KU was a lock yesterday, no way Self was letting them lose two in a row.

Yeah swapping Kaluma for Traudt might work out okay, since Traudt has some long-term upside. But Ashworth looks like he belongs in a rec league.

The dude that UVA would not play?

I guess so, but he was a pretty highly rated recruit. Finally latenin the game today, he put the ball on the floor, got in the lane, and got an easy bucket. Needs to do more of it.

He showed that WAC team what was up!
