Langsdorf a candidate for CFL head coach

So you had to find threads from more than a month ago to support your notion that anti-Riley guys just keep clamoring about him sucking and wanting him fired. I don't think that fits the definition of "keep clamoring."
How about this one?

http://nebraska.forums.rivals.com/threads/our-offense-sucks-our-defense-sucks-our-playcalling.80507/

Or this one?

Now Tom, you'll have to read between the lines just a bit, but I'm pretty sure people in these threads want him fired.

Sure, finding threads is somewhat a needle in haystack (lots of content generated on here), but in just the three I provided you have quite a number of board regulars who think Riley sucks and should have been canned.

That's not even counting Snohomish, who I believe expressed that they should be, but its too bad politics would get in the way of it.
Again since I am the boogie man - based on your link here is what I said

I agree he gets another year to right the ship but next year cannot just be ok with some bad losses. The problem I have with this staff is that I really just do not see their decision making changing, the schemes also need to change.

Fans are not fickle NU as a program is in complete meltdown right now.

Keep in mind this post is dated 11-2 which is right after the Purdue Loss - actually based on how bad that loss is I thought my comments pretty tame

What I want to see is change - and they need to change - Map out our reported balance this year and what do you see?

A team that throws 74% of time on 3rd down ( the money down)

No...I'm not sure of that. On game day nearly two weeks ago people were very upset with the coaching and yet still no one called for his head. Again, the idea that people who find fault with Riley are clamoring for his head is simply not accurate.

Take your head out of the sand please. Clevinger wants Riley to stay on as coach? You got that from his posts? What about rowdy roddy piper? He wants this coaching staff to remain intact? If you truly believe this after reading their posts I question your credibility.

You ask for proof and then when jflores and I provide links you say their either too old or too ambiguous. Why am I not surprised?

He is having the same issues he had at OSU. It's time for him to make some changes. Line up and run right at people...give your qb easy pass plays to complete (He ain't Dan Marino or Dan Fouts back there)...stop being sneaky and just get the first down on 3rd and 4th and short...start using your offensive play calling to set up plays later in the game...utilize the qb run game. Finally, switch up the play caller...he ain't getting it done.

Like this one from the very first game of his Husker career? This one, that, with a better throw, would have put us up 8 with 3:00 to play?: Link

Sorry to keep picking at your posts, but as a much lower level playcaller, some of these nitpicks are pretty big pet peeves of mine.

Every OC could improve what they're doing, some more than others, but some of the complaints aren't based on the reality of what's happening on the field.

Obviously, not the only example from the year...just the most obvious and should have been the most impactful on the game it was called in.

Edited to FINALLY fix the link.

Good...we found one. This simply was not happening on a frequent basis. Maybe I expect too much having grown up with Osborne. However, I rarely saw this happen this year.

These are examples of folks who "keep clamoring?" Pulling out posts from months ago or telling me to read between the lines on posts from two weeks ago are not examples of a bunch of folks that "keep clamoring." If you can't find a number of recent posts that want Riley fired, then the reality is that nobody "keeps clamoring" over wanting Riley axed.

Clevinger - "There is nothing redeemable about this staff, and their past tells you there is nothing to look forward to."

Clevinger - "I'm saying this staff has no future as someone who believes coaches need time."

Clevinger - "He really wasn't. He was 5-7 last year. At most he sucked less than their historic norm. There is no happy ending in this staff's future."

Rowdy Roddy - "I stopped supporting them after the Illinois loss. Lack of fundamental coaching skills on a high school level will never be successful in the big ten."

Rowdy - "A 10 year old kid playing madden would have known how to finish that game. Won't even bring up the purdue dumpster fire....."

C10Delux - "Lets see if you feel the same way after another embarrassing loss in our bowl game. I would hope that the vast majority of fans are sick and tired of this, rather than supporting the status quo."

These quotes are from the two threads I posted.

Admittedly, I am reading between the lines. But please tell me these posters want to keep Riley and company. I would love to see your spin on this.

I guess we'll let the court of public opinion decide. If you read this and think these posters want to keep Riley, respond accordingly. If you think they want him gone, respond accordingly.

If you want to pretend that no one really wants Riley fired and we all want no more Shame than to let him figure out the run game in the off season it's your right to believe that. I provided links in a timely manner and am under no obligation to make your point for you but it's clear that some folks want Riley fired with no further consideration given.

Or the reality is that people already know he won't be fired because it is too soon.

So let me get this straight... All of huskerland is happy with Riley, or at the least, don't want to see him fired. Is that your take?

I have to say, the post I'm most intrigued by is Snohomish's and Tom's claim that we own the real power of the program.

Suffice it to say, Tom's a preacher, and probably has at least a little experience in demonstrating an inner unknown power that people new to the flock don't think they have....

Would you all care to demonstrate the true power of the fan and show the rest of us how we steer this great ship that Riley is crashing?

Certainly fellas who care as much as yourselves, wielding power you believe you have, wouldn't stand idly by why Riley continues to shun the power run game and other ill fated decisions. You would be the Chamberlain's of football. There's plenty of room this off-season for you to assert your power, perhaps with staff suggestions you think are particular fitting, or maybe situational play calls you can sit down and discuss with Riley? I'm pretty sure once I saw this cool power in action, I'd like to get in on it too, I just don't know what to do.
