Kiffin

I think Lane is a real good coach but he wouldn’t fit very well in Lincoln.

He runs a wide open offense and doesn’t run the ball very much and he is a river boat gambler and like’s to go for it quite a bit on 4th down..

They run quite a bit. Especially last year when they had Judkins. But they also have some bonehead decisions that cost them games, like most teams. And very aggressive on 4th and short. They had a DT Peegues who would run a wildcat that was pretty unstoppable until teams sold out to stop it.

Was born in Lincoln…why hasn’t he been a candidate for the head coaching job in the last 12 years? Genuinely curious… he’d be a splash hire
I think the fan base is finally accepting that recruiting matters as does having a history of success as a college coach. For a long time many in the fanbase were too good for an Urban Meyer or a Sarkisian, or a Kiffin because they were morally superior (though strangely they would overlook the behavior of a lot of Nebraska-connected candidates). When Kiffin left Tennessee he was in his 30s and the lure of USC came from multiple causes (including his then wife). Working under Saban helped him mature, as did getting his personal life in order. Same with Sarkisian.
I believe we are pointed in the right direction now and Rhule seems to understand and be willing to make changes to fix areas of weakness. However, if in a few years we are in the market and Kiffin is still winning and takes Ole Miss to the next level, we should be interested. My hesitation would be related to how well he would do in the Big 10 with the same offense.
