They didn't can him. He's had health problems for years. Kill was, and still is, loved in Minnesota.
I liked Kill. Kind of a Charlie McBride vibe.
Oh, Minny insiders told us that Kill and administration butted heads and they wanted him gone.
There’s some bad blood between Kill and the university for the Tracy Claeys situation, and Kill apparently despises P.J. Fleck. But the fans would probably take him back to this day over P.J.

I think Minny fans are starting to get KF vibes from PJ.
This fear that PJ will just do enough to keep getting extensions but never enough to be relevant. So basically being Iowa, NW, Indiana, PU, Illinois and the list of horrible Big Ten teams goes on and on.
Jerry Kill is one of the very best coaches out there. He built the boat and PJ has just sat in it collecting paychecks.
However due to his health issues, it's not likely he will ever stay at one place for very long.
I think Kill has legitimate health issues, but he's an old ball coach and just can't give it up.
