Seeing as attractive, offensive-minded coaches who were once QBs is all the rage in the NFL, how long until they try to come and lure Frost away? If Kingsbury got 2 offers after a losing season, what happens after Frost strings together a couple 9-10 win seasons?

Frost will retire at Nebraska. Osborne had NFL teams come after him and he turned them down when they came knockin' same as Frost will do, as he said this is where he want's to retire. This is Frost's dream job, and the only way he will leave here is if he is fired!

I like to think this is the case, but I'll believe it when he turns offers down. I don't doubt this is his dream job at least to some extent, but it's exceedingly rare nowadays for a coach to stick around like Dr. Tom did. Maybe Frost will buck that trend though.

I just don't see him leaving. We saw how hard it was for him to leave UCF-and that wasn't his home state and his alma mater. If, and that's a BIG if(I don't think it will happen) he ever left, it would be after a couple of national championships and he would feel he had no more to accomplish here. He knows there is no other job he could ever get where he would get the kind of support from fans and leadership like he has at Nebraska. Bottom line-he isn't leaving for any other job.

Why are you referring to him as a "boi"? That's kinda gross .

IMO, not likely he will listen to any NFL pitches.

He's very particular about the jobs he takes. He had more head coach offers that he rejected before he took the UCF job. He had carefully analyzed the UCF situation before deciding it was a ripe, sleeper position. And he thought long and hard about the Nebraska situation before he was willing to leave UCF. Don't forget he spurned some "plum" jobs (at least in the eyes of others) like Florida, Tennessee, etc.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think Frost is really cut out for the NFL. 1. I’m not a big NFL guy, so feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t see his offense being as good in the NFL as it is in college. 2. Culture. His is a culture of work ethic, attitude, accountability, etc. I think the NFL is a whole different monster when it comes to culture and overall roster management. I just don’t think his overall program philosophy fits with the NFL.

All that said, Frost is a competitor, and I think he is one who would welcome just about any challenge, so that alone could push him to the NFL one day. But I don’t think he’s going anywhere until he finds significant success in Lincoln and brings NU back.

If he leaves he leaves. Life goes on. Trolls should be more concerned about what he does in the meantime.

That's all part of the Nebraska way.

I am not aware of any reports of an NFL team requesting a meeting .... so not sure he is viewed as a more NFL ready coach than Kingsbury.

Chips crash and burn in the NFL probably will hurt him as well

I think he's big on developing the character of young men. Much easier to do that at the college level.

I offer my apology.

Just kidding I was born in 1993... I’m just a dumbass millennial. I live in my parents garage. My mom still ties my shoes and packs my lunch everyday - she cuts the crust off my pb and j, which I take to my part time job as a barista.

While I’m at work she dusts of my collection participation trophies and cleans up my safe space for when I get home to play fortnite.

Frosty Boi? GTFO
sorry your feelings are so hurt.

Also, I wasn't asking whether or not Frost will leave for the NFL, as I think he retires here. However, you're being plain dumb if you think he doesn't eventually get offers. You think NFL GMs are just gonna say "oh he really likes it there, it would be immoral of us to try and lure him away, better not."

Sometimes I'm embarrassed to be apart of such a fuddy dud fanbase.

You should be embarrassed to say idiotic things like "Frsoty Boi" and pretend to be a fan of a team, just to act like an idiot on their message board.

What makes you think I'm "pretending" to be a Husker fan? Because I have a funny username? Been here since Solich, was pretty young when Osborne was winning natty's in the 90's, but I remember seeing Jeff Smoker thrown around by Pelini's defense like it was yesterday.

I wonder how embarrassed your kids would be if they knew their pussboi Dad was getting emotional on the internet over the word "boi" LMAO.

Cute, keep up the good work little "boi". Your posts are super cool and funny.

One word of advice-the only people I have seen calling Scott Frost "Frosty" are people who are posing as Husker fans and trying to fit in by using the nickname. I don't think I have heard any Husker fan use that name-it's always either Scott Frost, Coach Frost, HCSF or just plain Frost.

The OP knows what Josh Heupel's penis tastes like.
I tried my hand at being a UCF fan, they didn't appreciate my insight

last year....there is no doubt that one of those idiot NFL owners gave his agent a call. There is no group of more inept ceos than those that run NFL teams. There is a reason why even with socialism fully intact in the league, a salary cap, rookie caps, free agency, a draft, that the same teams keep cycling through the super bowl. But hey, Ima Bengals fan...16 years with a coach that didn't win a playoff game and they spent a top draft pick on an EFFIN RUNNINGBACK who was kicked out of college for punching a girl. And then they drop the worst defense in the league...rant over.

that's wrong, visit the Husker reddit and there's a much wider vernacular used than the 70 year old, yelling at people who stand up on third down demographic we have here.

This meme was literally created by Husker fans shortly after we hired him

Oh so Husker fandom doesn't start until you join one of the dozens of free message boards? Well Grandpa, I have yet to see Tom Osborne join so maybe its time to launch an investigation into whether he's allowed to support Husker football or not.

I thought you old people were supposed to have a little more wisdom than that

Fellow "boi" here. Why are some of you getting so knotted up over someone using a meme-related word on the internet?

Back to OP's point, I bet Frost starts getting calls next year. NFL teams will begin to notice what he's done with Martinez in the spread and get excited. Look at a team like Baltimore or Houston (both have fine coaches, but wouldn't be too shocked to see them move on soon) who would be interested in adapting the college spread like KC and LA have done.

If he has any kind of success here, he will retire here. I don't think the NFL is his long term goal. Only way I see him going to NFL is if he is fired from Neb.
