Fran being a douche yet again

Yeah, we had a guy just like that once. His name was Bo Pelini.

And, not surprisingly (like Fran) winning a couple of ballgames was his apex. Trophy case? Empty.

"Everyone's out to get us every day and every game, its us vs. them" isn't the best long term strategy. It's embarrassing.
You like Riley better than Bo? Just curious…

What does this question have anything to do with the original post?
Zero. I was responding to a poster comparing Fran to Bo.

Have always been curious of the opinions of Husker fans regarding what constitutes a ‘great coach’… whether the traditional fans here just hate coaches who’re a little Edgy, who abuse the media and officials a little, versus embracing someone who panders well to the media, has a standard haircut, attends church regularly… and that their overall ‘moral fiber’ displayed to the world was more important than WINNING, on the field.

Keep Riley out of the equation, he’s comparing bozo to Fran, both whom are a embarrassment to their school and sport
Was attempting to make the point that Riley, who was WWAAAAAYYYYY more polite to the media and officials, was a massive embarrassment compared to Bo (or Fran for that matter), who was comparatively a little it of a dick. I don’t like Fran, at all. But had zero problem with him staring down an official. It made me lol. Seriously. In an airport.

As one who prefers someone who panders well to the media, has a standard haircut, attends church regularly, that doesn’t make them a better coach. At all. Riley had to go. Not as good as Bo, clearly. That doesn’t mean Bo shouldn’t have been fired. Both can be true at the same time. Better coach was Bo. Still not good enough.

I really don’t know why this clown gets my blood boiling but he just gets stupider all the time… I guess he has no level of embarrassment left in his life
I don’t understand why the B1G lets him continue without suspending him. This latest episode is just blatant intimidation.

Exactly. Why is this hard to understand?

B1G is toothless

One of the many reasons it’s so adept at blowing/sucking

Exactly… laughter might have been the best approach😂

I would tend to agree — if it were a coach like Hoiberg who doesn’t go psycho all the time. Would be out of character and be funny as hell. But Fran is the opposite of that and it was clearly an intimidation tactic. Initially, let it go. When he steps forward then T him up. Give him 2 so he is disqualified because he was clearly trying to get teed up - make it worth his while.

In the HS and JV games i ref, if a coach tried that i would give them a “warning” to return to their bench. If it didn’t happen, make it worth his while.

Correct me if I’m wrong but herkys have lost more games than won when psycho Fran given a technical during his coaching career at Ioway..
Fran gets the majority of his technicals/ejections when he is on the road. Usually when his team is getting drilled by double digits. The refs don't have the backbone to eject him on his home court. And he knows it.

that staring episode was just psychotic. Somebody from their AD's office needs to make him cool it or suspend him.

B1G basketball - where the assault isn't just verbal!

So because the team is motivated by this lunatic and his boorish behavior, that makes it acceptable? I found Pelini’s behavior embarrassment. You should be with Fran.
I had an Iowa fan tell me “but he’s a good guy off the court.” He was completely serious. It’s not overstating it to say that Iowa fans are the biggest collection of hypocrites in college sports.

The thing that sucks is that they came back to win that game. But the game should have been over right there with two T's, ejection, FT's for MSU.

Basically, he was "rewarded" for bad behavior instead of getting a consequence like he should have.
