For anyone who hasn't figured out the problem yet

It isn't a lie but

gonna cry tobey maguire GIF
yes, very much
and my Rosie is hotter than yours...

how well ones play against quality opponents and wins
every situation is different so difficult to tell. I don't get paid to make those decisions
Okay so if we do/don’t “play well enough” (subjective) over an unknowable amount of time then we can say whether or not the coaching staff is good or bad

Got it

So here's my thing with Satterfield. I watched his two years at SC. Living here it was pretty bad for him. Imo we could have done way better than him as an OC. This isn't hindsight either I said it before hand. SC was THRILLED to get rid of him.

That said I figured when he came here I'd give him a clean slate. Judge him by his actions here.

Anyways without bagging on him and faulting him for our shifty QB play I haven't seen one thing from him that has made me waiver from my initial thoughts about him. While I can't really blame him for what he inherited I can blame him for poor calls, situational awareness, playing to players strengths, and at some point he has to be culpable for turnovers. Seriously it's not a coincidence that TURNOVERS SEEM TO FOLLOW YOUR OFFENSES.

I understand he will get another year at least but imo he was clearly the worst hire of Ruhle. Especially considering they paid him top 5-10 OC money. SC fans, administration and coaches were so thrilled that we bailed them out.

I think it's a miss. Unfortunately it'll be at least another year before anyone cam be sure.

Holla
and to be fair, every loser school hates their coordinators.

You guys get together and figure out the "problem" yet?

I'm also enjoying the posting by folks with multiple accounts backing themselves up. Good stuff.
I believe we all agree the problem is on the offensive side of the ball. Some posters want to treat the symptoms… others want to treat the root cause.

sure isn't a simple as Wins and Loses
their is quite a lot of nuance

Iowa is ranked but I wouldn't consider them a quality opponent
I agree - especially when discussing assistants

Which is why annually and never before your first 24 months is quite a long timeframe for performance reviews in my outspoken opinion

Sure, if ones are given a great team and then run it into the ground, ala Solich.

Purdy fumbled when no one touched him and threw to a defender covering nobody.

This is a solid question. What can the staff be held accountable for?
Yes, Purdy made mistakes. I don't hold that against the staff.

Their biggest mistake was not getting someone better than Sims and not using Purdy sooner.

Rhule has a good record of getting guys to the NFL. That and turning programs around are what he’s known for.
I had another thought on all of this. Question for you Dingle or anyone else - Why does it take Rhule three years to turn a program around? What makes three the magic number? Inquiring minds want to know.

another loser that wants to only blame student athletes instead of shitty coaching. Beyond pathetic
The student athletes with NIL have tutors that can keep them staying eligible if they at least show up for class. Ultimately the student athletes are the only ones that have control over what happens on the field of play because stupid coaches are not allowed on the field to do it themselves. I do not recall seeing Marcus Satterfield throw 2-4 interceptions a game or Matt Rhule fumble on a single play but the the list is long for your student athletes that kept repeating the same stupid mistakes over and over again.

Nothing. Can’t hold the guys getting paid millions accountable… just bash the student athletes instead
Jeff Sims is making 200K a year to fumble and throw picks. These are Div 1A athletes. They know they have to get the job done or its next man up. It will help prepare them for the real world. But having said that, you still don't tell a college kid to kill himself. That's unforgivable in my book.

Continuity at the quarterback position is at least one factor

At those places he played guys in year 1 in their first ever college action and stuck with them until he left (Walker, Brewer)

That’s something a huge majority here don’t want to see happen at Nebraska

In the past he has recruited guys like Lloyd who were great athletes but overlooked. Then he’s developed them in to good football players. He took over programs in severe disrepair. You don’t fix that in a year unless you’re starting with great talent like Pelini inherited at many positions. Pelini had to find linebackers and he did for the most part.

Another good question is what programs have been turned around in less than 3 years that were dumpster fires?

Why do you demand that he should have accomplished more when most of the consensus of the bitchers before Spring ball was that we would finish 2023 the same as 2022 because our players sucked along with Frost. I was one of a few that thought we could win 10 games. We almost did. Now the consensus of the bitchers is to fire everybody because we didn't win 10 games.

A subjective question, but a few that were turned around in year one…

KSU - 2019 (Klieman)
NW - this year
NU - Bo Pelini

North Carolina under Mack
Kansas under Leipold
Iowa State under Campbell
Purdue under Brohm
Vandy under James Franklin
Oklahoma State under Gundy

And you will find that most of those teams had very good players

Coach Prime... never saw that one coming. I ain't going to be hard to find in the Spring but 'till then I got change my whole roster again and find some vendors that will run ads of me again. All I get now are fire equipment manufacturers and Game and Parks Smokey the Bear. I get no respect I tell you. No respect.
