Would someone please tell me what the Hell this offense is suppose to be ? There is niether rhyme nor reason to it. It’s a bunch of plays that don’t seem to work together.

Look at Osborne’s offensives , plays worked together to set up each other . You were punished when you loaded up the box . Mis-direction was not obvious . Pass plays were disguised as run plays ( and not trick plays) .

I wouldn’t call this season a success by any meaning of the word. However, I do feel like we have a more cohesive program than at any point over the last 3 seasons, and that matters. Getting better starts up front and under center. Bringing in a Jaxson Dart type of talent would immediately change the trajectory of this program.
The brutal O line play this season was the most monumental failure considering the experience on that squad. Unacceptable.
And Satt was all over the place. He will no doubt get another season, right or wrong.
The entire defense was a massive upgrade. And the I like where we are at with EJ and Grant as his backup to end the season.

Again, this season wasn’t a success, but I think it was a solid starting building block for the future.

Why do you demand that he should have accomplished more when most of the consensus of the bitchers before Spring ball was that we would finish 2023 the same as 2022 because our players sucked along with Frost. I was one of a few that thought we could win 10 games. We almost did. Now the consensus of the bitchers is to fire everybody because we didn't win 10 games.
I asked a question, I didn't "demand" anything. I saw many people on here, pre season, predicting 9-10 wins, you weren't alone. We "almost" didn't win 5.

I gave an answer. Sorry it did not fit well with you fair weather only true Husker.

That might be truth. Sark’s resume from the NFL and Bama are strong selling points to QB recruits. Couple that with million dollar plus NIL availability and you’re going to get most of the QBs you want. Peetz MIGHT have helped but I doubt it. IMO we’re going to have to find under valued QB recruits and develop them.
Who on our staff is going to develop them?

As it stands it would be Satterfield but I won’t be surprised if some shuffling of staff takes place. I don’t think developing QBs is some magic science. You get them practice reps and drills that get them comfortable with the speed of the game. You teach them the offense and then hopefully get them game reps. Obviously time in the film room is important but there’s no substitute for live reps.

+1 good quality post, but still think we need a better QB than either Purdy or HH moving forward in the new B1G conference next season..
My janitor back in WV thought Purdy looked decent.

This makes sense. Also glad Grant is a senior and will be gone. I am over the fumbling problem already, and if we sent all 3 QBs packing I’d be ok with it because you will never win a lot of games with 3 turnovers per game, every fvcking game.

Here’s to portal season! Officially opens Dec 4th

I respect your opinion. I’ve posted several times that the jury is out on him at NU. I think he gets another year to sink or swim. The key for any OC is getting
the man at QB. We most definitely did not have that this year.

FWIW I think Trev is fully aware of the situation and would encourage a change if he felt it was necessary.

I don't disagree with that. College like pros is becoming similar in that you better get you a QB or your ceiling is very low. If Ruhle had a QB he would still be in Charlotte coaching the Panthers. I understand it's hard to judge Satterfield on some things but some things happen too much around him to be coincidental as well. I hope like hell he gets his QB this off season because if not I think they probably move on. Hope I'm wrong for sure because best case for the program is he hits a HR and that's what we all hope and want.

I’ve seen things from Purdy that make me think he can be the guy.

I like what I seen but sample size not big enough for me to be "ok" with not trying to upgrade.

We did finally actually look like a team whose QB had a legit shot at completing a forward pass. But I think most of us has watched this BS QB play all year so much so that just borderline "ok" play looks like Pat Mahomes lol

Again u know I was with you 3 weeks or so ago calling for Purdy. For fact he's the best QB in this current roster. But if I'm being honest I'd try to get someone better in the portal.
I'd still attempt to get two guys. A young guy and one with one year to play and I'd let the 3 compete. Id move HH to HB/TE and I'd put skates on Sims and roll him out the door and may the best man win.

So is it on coaching or does he have an issue between the ears that keeps him from winning? I personally believe it’s the former.
I will bite on this. We have a coaching staff that has seen every one of their three deep QBs continue to make stupid mistakes over and over, all three of them. Then Coaches are criticized for play selection and clock management. A coach like any other job superintendent can only lead his people to water. He has no means to make them drink.

So why would you put a turnover-prone qb in a situation where a turnover is likely and will cost you the game?

Our coaches lead thirsty horses to a shovel and tell them to dig a well with little instruction

When will you hold coaches getting paid millions accountable ? Will you hire me for a c suite position? If I fail, I’ll just blame the worker bees and all will be good

Maybe because he has no one on his QB roster that is not turnover prone other than walk-ons that have not played yet.
Instructions to dig a well? 1) Read operators manual on shovel. 2) Dig inside a two foot circle. 3) Quit digging when you hit water.
I don't think I would be interested in hiring you to take care of cat litter boxes. You might always find excuses for not getting the litter bagged and into the trash can on garbage day. Wrong type of litter, improper boxes, too much wet in the boxes or just plain lack of training.
Everyone must do their job and take ownership if they screwed up again on the field of play or a jobsite.

I think we absolutely need to recruit another QB. People expecting a portal savior QB though I think will be disappointed. We need to keep Purdy and Haarberg IMO as well. We’ve needed 3 QBs every year it seems. I’m not counting on Kaelin or Sims for anything next fall

If it were that easy, everyone would be good at it including Satts.

I think losing Singleton started to add up. That guy was all over the place at the start of the year.

So who do we lose on the defense?

Henrich
Newsome
Reimer
Brown
Who else?

Need some lb's. Do we really only have McGahee and an edge for commitments? Seems way too low. Our LB recruiting has been terrible the last 2 classes. That's going to catch up to us.
Maverick Noonan too in fall practice

Great talent makes for great coaches. There’s only so much a QB coach can do IMO. Maybe the most important part is anticipating what he’s going to see the next week then preparing him for that. I get the impression sometimes that opposing DCs know exactly what we’re going to do in any given situation offensively. It’s like they’re using AI.

I don't think we need a savior. Just a polished guy who can manage a game and "play catch" with open receivers. I don't think that's too much. Especially if we can find a guy who takes care of the ball FIRST.

Imagine how many games we win if we just had a serviceable game manager who could do what I said.

Personally I want two guys if possible in the portal and I wouldn't be against an FCS guy if he was the right fit. Again for me only Purdy would be an option at QB. Sims a definite no go and HH a position switch. I'd take the two portal guys and Purdy, and Kaelin and ride with that. If they had some kinda wildcat formation to use HH in I MIGHT consider that but nothing else
