Who are the 3-3-5 DCs out there?

Finding enough high end athletes that are quick twitch mentally to play multiple defenses week to week isn’t easy. In today’s world it means way more NIL than currently being spent and a teaching process that is faster and simplified for the college level. The pros have unlimited time, the colleges do not unless the paid players use their own time above and beyond

That's what Rhule wants to run and I can't believe he'd take a chance bringing in a DC who hasn't run it. That narrows down the potential DC pool A LOT.
All DC's already run a nickel defense of some sort. It's a matter of committing to it as your base defense. I favor a four man front with more size up front like the Steelers run, a 4-2-5, and then adjusting to a 3-4 when you go big or 3-2-6 when you run dime.

The 3-3-5 is fine too and it's smarter to stick with it since that's what we already run. But I get nervous about stopping the run. We got gashed when Ty and Nash were both off the field.

Some of that was LB substitutions as well. Nebraska did not fill gaps properly at times and that led to them getting gashed regardless of who was on the DL.

Definitely. But we also had some DL kids in there playing too high and getting shoved around.
