CharMar Brown picks Miami Co Canes

Just for the record, the article that Callahan used to make his determination was from the Miami site. In that article, he was 50/50 with 2 schools Miami and another team (the other team was not mentioned). Callahan assumed it was Nebraska, but Nakos from On3 seems to believe Cal is in the mix and is actual leading this morning.
I’ll give it to you old chap, you were on this one. Good call. Unfortunately good call in my opinion. Still very worried about the RB room but nothing we can do about it except hope the staff knows what they are doing. Time will tell

I guess Cal didn't want to wait for him. Did the ole hard sell. We will see.

Most people are predicting Miami now FWIW

Cal couldn’t wait they need RB . They literally had 1 in the room before the portal opened. I think they have a couple more now but the are still short. Nebraska made a big move overnight according to @TimVerghese and got closer to 50/50. The longer it goes it is puts Nebraska in better shape.

need? We didn't even want him

Great choice in the short term for taxes. Long-term, we'll see...

He would have been nice to have for depth, but also, wasn't a must get.

This is getting annoying. Need to know if we want him or he wasn't good enough to play here.

Lmao . I feel ya. Funny thing is both things could be true. Personally I think he's probably good enough to be a 2 deep guy here. Id also guess he isn't quite good enough to be a game changer though. Just my opinion based on absolutely NOTHING lol

If the coaches want him in this case I'll ride with them lol.

Things get real convoluted real fast these days when you are dealing with "representatives" and the athlete. I have it on good authority what Brown told team sites and guys like Fong and Nakos is different than what his reps were telling teams and their collectives. I am not saying he didn't choose Miami and the reps did, but there was some pressure to take the bigger bag because they in turn would get a bigger bag.

Connor Hopper and Mitch Sherman are wringing their hands about missing on Brown. My take is that the coaches like the room as it is and didn't necessarily think Brown would move the needle there for the price they would have to (over-)pay to get him. The RB position at NU in recent years has featured a lesser regarded back exceeding the play of their more highly ranked teammates. Lucky and Helu overlapped. Lucky had decent productivity, but it did not match his 6.1 Rivals rating. Helu greatly exceeded what his 5.5 Rivals rating would have predicted. We saw the same thing with Aaron Green and Abdullah, although Green went onto good productivity after transferring to TCU.
