What would be the increase to the Husker budget? That extra dough would be good to use in hiring a top $ DC.

This came from an article that came out in June 2016:
"How much each member of the Big Ten receives once the new deals come into effect in is unclear, but industry sources told NJ Advance Media that the long-standing members figure to draw in north of $50 million in 2017 and beyond (Awfulannouncing.com put the estimate at $57 million in April)."

This is from another article:
"During this "buy-in" period, Nebraska is receiving payments similar to what Nebraska was scheduled to receive from the Big XII until 2017. That number originated at $14 million in 2011-12 and jumped to $18.7 million in 2014-15, thanks to a bump created by the College Football Playoff. Meanwhile, other conferences such as the Big XII and SEC are paying each member over $20 million a year, and the existing eleven members of the Big Ten received $32 million last year."

So basically Nebraska's revenue from the B1G is going to be more than double!

SE obviously knows this and has the ability to pay B1G money to any of Riley's assistant coaches. Looks like he started with DW and hopefully we shoot for the stars and get what we pay for going forward.

I said last night that we wouldn't pay $1.3M for a DC, but with that much more money coming in starting in the 2017 cycle, we could easily pay that. Time to get THE BEST DC we can get. GBR.
