Pretty Sure He Hasnt Been Active Here In Like 8 Years But...

Word came through on the national board that Nupist passed away on Christmas day.

He was a little...well. He had his own personality. I believe he was ran off the home board many years ago. But I grew to like the guy, faults and all.

Just passing it along for the few who might remember the guy who might want to know the news.

GBR.

WAY OT: Joe Rogan and Wesley Huff

Intro Rant
===================================
I am far from a regular Rogan listener or fan. I think he's actually a phenomenal interviewer but I get annoyed when he talks authoritatively about things that are WAY out of his expertise. Overall though, watching clips here and there are generally entertaining and I have a high respect for his willingness to have guests of ALL walks of life. I've never bought into that "you have platform and a responsibility to only expouse _____ ideas".
===================================

That being said...

Joe's podcast had on Wesley Huff who is an Ancient Near Eastern manuscript expert and a critical Biblical apologist.

Wes is extremely intelligent and well educated. His background is diverse (born in the middle east spent a lot of his life outside the US) and he's very eloquent and the majority of the conversation is about textual history (both Biblical and non).

If that's the kind of thing that interests you, here's a short (3 hours) discussion between Joe and Wes:

The only background you need is another atheist youtuber named Billy Carson (a former guest of Rogan) was set to have a conversation with another podcaster who invited Wesley on to have the conversation in his place because he wasn't equipped to answer his questions.

Wesley then goes on to just tear apart all of Billy Carson's arguments against the veracity of the Bible and quoting books that Billy was saying spoke against it, etc. He tried to sue Wes and sent cease and desist letters, etc.

It blew up on YouTube and that's how Wesley got an invite to be on Rogan's show.

Anyway, I realize not many will watch a 3 hour podcast (I watched on 1.5x speed haha) but it's gripping...at least to this ANE history nerd.
