K-State might be at peace with letting Klieman walk

Consider the Wisconsin situation:
  • fired Paul Chryst, their coach with the highest winning % in their history
  • slow start, wrong side of 50, but still a shocking move to let him go given his success
  • promoted their young, alumnus coordinator as an audition to prevent him being poached
  • being a non-blue blood, its unlikely they'd get him back if he were to go on and have success at a blue blood

Now consider K-State:
  • young, alumnus coordinator in Collin Klein with experience coaching both sides of the ball
  • played and coached under Snyder, is almost like KState's version of Scott Frost without the drinking problem
  • sooner or later, teams are going to come calling, and Klieman will be on the wrong side of 50 as well
  • promote him now, and if he's successful, you're set for the next 30+ years. if you lose him and he finds tremendous success, you probably don't get him back
Klieman has a legit shot at tying Bill Snyder's best win total this year. It's curious that there hasn't been a single beep about him getting a substantial raise if that were the plan. Could it be they view Collin Klein as a more integral piece of their success? Had Scott Frost been OC during some of Bo's better years, I don't think there's a scenario where we would've let him get away, and I have to wonder if K-State money feels the same way.

Did you get your Nebraska Athletics survey?

got an email with a survey about buying husker gear. .where you buy it, how much of it, what you want to see differently

some info on the TWO55 campaign.. (I hadn't even heard of this)

Seems like they are trying to get an understanding of how much you buy and where and what logos people like

I did select the option that I buy when the team is winning.. but they have lots of answers.. took about 5-7 minutes to complete..

no write in feedback unfortunately lol

craft beer thread

Since we haven't had one of these threads in a while...

Anybody had any new ones worth mentioning? I kinda favor wheats and browns and some seasonals. Don't care for many that are TOO dark or any lights (unless they're made red). Also I can't drink IPA's. Don't mind the initial taste but hate the after taste.

Always am impressed with Black Tooth (WY), Sierra Nevada (CA), New Belgium (CO) and O'dell (CO) Breweries.

Had a Sierra Nevada Kellerweis the other day that I thought was really good. Had a friend tell me Bell's Oberon Ale (MI) is really good but can't find it anywhere. Might be seasonal??

Residential Painting Question

I need to paint above a spiral staircase in my house and not sure how to get high enough means there's no room for a ladder and any scaffolding will likely be hanging partially off a step. 15 years ago when I painted I had a few people stand on 2x8 boards that walked out on and I had each ladder leg under a board and I went up a ladder. If they moved at all or took weight off the board I would have fallen to my death down 30 feet of spiral stairs. I'm 36 years old now and don't feel invincible like I used to and not sure how to get to that height to paint. If I had any faith in my smoke show girlfriend's painting ability I'd have her stand on my shoulders and paint as I walked up the stairs, but that doesn't seem like a good idea after seeing her at Pinot's Palette. What would you guys do?

TIA

I don’t recognize college football anymore.

When did you become a Husker Fan?

I did in 1965. We just moved to Scribner and watched the Huskers play Alabama in a bowl game. We lost like 37-28. I was just sickened but caught the Nebraska fever. Now I've moved to the Lone Star State and wear Nebraska gear all the time. I can't tell you how many people stop and say; "Go Big Red" to me. Nebraska fans are everywhere. I even met one in Santorini, Greece.

Volleyball Kennedi Orr confirms 2023 return

Kennedi Orr confirmed on her Instagram that she will return for Nebraska next fall for the 2023 season. Orr had an up and down campaign in 2022 as it saw the sophomore bounce in and out of the starting lineup.

She’ll return as a junior and battle with incoming freshman and No. 4 overall recruit Bergen Reilly for the starting setter spot.

Recruiting Gretna DL/OL Mason Goldman set for Nebraska official visit

Add another one to the list this weekend that will reach double-digits. Gretna lineman Mason Goldman announced on social media that he will be taking an official visit to Nebraska this weekend.

I reached out to him for comment about the trip and if they are still recruiting him to play offensive line.

"They have told me that they are going to evaluate me when I get there if I were to play there," Goldman said. "I love defense but I would play whatever they want me to. All that matters to me is what is best for the team."

Sounds like he could be a good option as a defensive lineman for Nebraska this cycle.
