Recruiting Gretna OL/DL Mason Goldman update

I exchanged some texts with Mason Goldman who was on campus this weekend for an official visit. The Gretna standout told me that it was great and that he had a really good time on the trip.

"The new facility is definitely a standout feature along with just the way we were all treated throughout the weekend," Goldman said. "They always put the recruits families first and if you had a questions about anything they would answer it for you."

Goldman has talked to coaches on both sides of the ball about potentially playing for them. What his future position would be in Nebraska is still up in the air after the weekend.

"Yeah, they are still looking at me for both and said they would just wait and see what my body turns into and evaluate when I get there," Goldman said.

The lineman will choose between Nebraska and Vanderbilt. He plans to announce his commitment publicly in the next day or two.

Basketball WBB: Three thoughts following Nebraska’s 66-39 win over Wyoming

There was plenty to dissect after Sunday including Maggie Mendelson’s basketball debut and the return of Sam Haiby. Hit the link for more.

Chiefs win

7th straight division title. Very unsatisfying though.

Best red zone offense and worst red zone defense. Butker needs to be looking for a new job on Monday. He can no longer be trusted.

Time to retire Spagnolo. Ask Eric Bienemy to move on too. Get a handle on these stupid penalties.

And, Carolina lost. I thought they were better than this 😅

Basketball WBB: Nebraska vs. Wyoming

The Huskers (8-3) ride a three-game winning streak as they take on Wyoming (6-3) on this cold Sunday afternoon here at PBA. Quinn Weidemann makes her return to PBA with the Cowgirls as the Omaha Westside graduate won a state title with the Warriors back in 2018.

Based on warmups, two starters for Nebraska remain out. That's Trinity Brady (hasn't played since Virginia Tech on Dec. 1) and Isabelle Bourne (out since Maryland on Dec. 4). Tip-off set for 2 p.m.

? For Zack & Staff

All this recruiting is very exciting! However, I can't help but compare this momentum to when Fraud came in here. He got many 4 star kids seemingly out of nowhere. Then like 70% of them left.

Because I'm jaded... tell me this is different.

Please confirm these kids will stay!

Thanks in advance. You guys are doing a fantastic job.

Recruiting Nebraska has Lincoln High ATH Beni Ngoyi evaluating his options

Nebraska got Iowa State commit Beni Ngoyi to take an official visit this weekend. Sounds like Matt Rhule and his staff gave him something to think about. Hit the link...

What Rhule should say after the first week of Spring Ball

Maybe he would tell his players different, but he should look into the camera and say:

"What I have now seen is that while we have good kids and some athleticism, we are 10,000 miles away from being a good football team and it's not their fault. We're going to work really hard to make us a good than great team, but it's going to take a lot of time and work. Another thing, we don't seem to know how to win right now, as is evidenced by the last 2 years of losing the 4th quarter in games that we could have won. Please be patient with us!"

Recruiting Defensive lineman Vincent Carroll-Jackson visiting Nebraska

Matt Rhule and his staff still have some surprises up their sleeves. I just confirmed with a source that recent Syracuse defense line commit Vincent Carroll-Jackson is on Nebraska's campus for an official visit this weekend.

The defender also popped up in this photo that Riley Van Poppel shared on social media. From left to right in the photo is linebacker Eric Fields, Riley Van Poppel, Pot Roast, Vincent Carroll-Jackson and Chief Borders.
