I exchanged some texts with Mason Goldman who was on campus this weekend for an official visit. The Gretna standout told me that it was great and that he had a really good time on the trip.

"The new facility is definitely a standout feature along with just the way we were all treated throughout the weekend," Goldman said. "They always put the recruits families first and if you had a questions about anything they would answer it for you."

Goldman has talked to coaches on both sides of the ball about potentially playing for them. What his future position would be in Nebraska is still up in the air after the weekend.

"Yeah, they are still looking at me for both and said they would just wait and see what my body turns into and evaluate when I get there," Goldman said.

The lineman will choose between Nebraska and Vanderbilt. He plans to announce his commitment publicly in the next day or two.

Maybe he would tell his players different, but he should look into the camera and say:

"What I have now seen is that while we have good kids and some athleticism, we are 10,000 miles away from being a good football team and it's not their fault. We're going to work really hard to make us a good than great team, but it's going to take a lot of time and work.
