Twist on the old “what former player would you add to this years roster”. I’ll take the first few players posted and make the poll from there.

State baseball and local talent.

I didn’t realize how much in state talent there is now. Just looking at the Lincoln East vs Elkhorn South game, each team has 4 D1 commits right now with a couple guys still uncommitted. I know most of the East guys are all sophomores too. Only one kid (Senstock from East) is committed to NU.

I know there are a lot more kids around the state worthy as well. Let me know some names to look for this week. Since I’m out with shoulder surgery I’m going to drive the 40 minutes and go to a few games.

Baseball Live Thread Game 49 FINAL: Nebraska 5, Penn State 2

Made my way back to Haymarket Park for the second game of this three-game series between Nebraska (27-20-1, 11-8) and Penn State (24-20, 6-12) for the second straight night contest at Hawks Field. It was quite a game for the Huskers yesterday in the series opener as the Nebraska offense plated 19 runs with 16 of them being scored past the fourth inning. Brice Matthews and Gabe Swansen each hit a home run as Matthews retook the team lead with his 20th homer of the year while Swansen hit his 15th. Max Anderson brought in four RBI as five different Huskers had multi-RBI nights. Emmett Olson bounced back after taking a sharp liner off his ankle last week as he dealt seven innings allowing four runs on four hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Here's that recap from last night:

Tonight it'll be RHP Jace Kaminska (6-3, 4.77 ERA) vs. Jaden Henline (5-2, 4.29 ERA) as Nebraska looks to lock up the series victory before Senior Day on Sunday. Here's the full series preview:

OT: How To Insert A Needle With No Pain

I'm posting this strictly as a layperson, and not as a medical suggestion.

Four weeks ago I began receiving testosterone therapy which requires the insertion of a needle into the muscle in my buttocks.
It's not a small needle, in fact, it is 1 1/2" long and is a 26 gauge needle, so it's also not a thin needle.

I had watched a stupid ass Tik Tok video of some guys who said if you "cough" at the same time the needle is inserted, there will be zero pain.
Obviously, I figured the guy was full of it. Turns out, he was exactly right, zero pain.

My wife had never given anyone a shot in her life and was being instructed by a nurse how to do it, the reason being the Doctor did not prescribe the medication so the nurse could only instruct my wife on how to insert the needle, but couldn't actually do the injection.

So, I told my wife, let me know when you are ready to insert the needle and I will cough. Did that, and zero pain. 1 1/2" into the muscle. The nurse hadn't heard of that.

Once we were finished, I told my wife that I could have done it since I'd inserted a much larger object into her thousands of times over the years....but, I digress.

The reason I bring this topic forward is maybe to help someone who needs to get a tetanus shot or even a cortisone shot. I don't know how this might work into a small extremity like a finger or hand or into a joint for a cortisone shot. It may not help at all. But, if a needle is inserted into a muscle or even a fatty area, it can be painless.

Take this suggestion for what it's worth. But, it has worked awesomely for me.

By the way, I'm not some fat ass. I'm in the 5'10" 180-pound range.

Baseball Live Thread Game 48 FINAL: Nebraska 19, Penn State 5

Here at Haymarket Park for the final home series of the season as Nebraska (26-20-1, 10-8) begins a crucial two-week stretch in Big Ten play as they look to lock up a spot in Omaha for the conference tournament from May 23-28. Penn State (24-19, 6-11) remains in the bottom half of the conference and is coming off a series in which they got swept by Rutgers.

Tonight it'll be LHP Emmett Olson (5-3, 4.34 ERA) vs. TBA in the series opener. However, the tarp is on the field and we will not start on time as we are in a lightening delay. Hearing earliest start time to be 6:30 p.m. With this big storm moving in, we might not get things rolling until 8 p.m. depending on how the weather acts. Going to be a lot of waiting tonight. Here's the series preview in the meantime.

Additionally, Will Bolt, Olson and Griffin Everitt spoke to the media yesterday to preview the weekend and how they're approaching this emotional weekend as they say goodbye to 10 seniors with Everitt included.
