Football DL Elijah Jeudy returning in 2025

Nebraska junior DL Elijah Jeudy announced on social media on Sunday he will be returning for the 2025 season, his third, and final, year at Nebraska. Some questions arose about Jeudy's status after he walked on Senior Day. Much needed veteran presence along the interior with Nash Hutmacher and Ty Robinson off the NFL this offseason

Appreciation for our seniors

I hate how commonplace it has become to hate on our exiting seniors recently. I've heard something to the effect each and every year since the final Pelini years. Hating on seniors every year just makes our fans look trashy, and I wish this practice would stop. For the most part, the seniors have played their asses off and are giving good effort and I think they deserve some respect.

Besides the obvious Nash and Ty being huge pieces that we will miss, there were several more making key contributions this year that we would have been worse off without them. I thought Gifford had a decent game to finish the year, and he finished the season as our leading tackler. Bullock has been solid all year, and I don't blame him for getting knocked off the ball carrier by his own teammates against Iowa. I thought MJ Sherman was the defensive MVP in the Iowa game. On every play, he stood up his man and pushed him back into the backfield. He was dominant. He's really come on lately, and I think he's going to go on to have an NFL career.

On offense, Jahmal Banks finally was starting to show his talents when he had some actual guidance under DH. And the same with some of the upperclassmen on the OL. I'm excited to see what our offense will look like under a full year with Dana Holgorsen. Without the seniors this year, we don't get to bowl eligibility and the critical practices for the young guys to develop. I'm appreciative of their efforts, the way they've conducted themselves, and for continuing to rep the university through some very tough times. So it's time to positively recognize them. Good, respectable fans don't shit on our own.

Daily Nebraska Trivia/Fact: November 30-December 1

“Name the Nebraska QB who finished his career as one of just three QBs in NCAA history to pass for at least 4,000 yards and rush for at least 3,000 yards. He also had more 100-yard rushing games than any QB in NCAA history.

“What were his career passing and rushing yardage totals?”

=================================

Answers:

Eric Crouch (43 career games)

4,481 career passing yards (and 29 career passing TDs)

3,434 career rushing yards (and 59 career rushing TDs)

Can we talk about the kickoff?

We kicked off and the ball bounced around inside the 5 and the Iowa player dove in front of the goal line sliding backwards into the end zone. The ball still appeared to be just out of the end zone when he batted it across the goal line to himself in the end zone. It was ruled as a touchback on the field, but I thought it should have been spotted inside the 1. What did I miss?

We have pumped an enormous amount of money to make a baby step

Rhule went all in on Raiola. Honestly, his performance on the road vs a good Iowa defense was not much different than an experienced senior, Howard, at home against a good Michigan defense.

I was pissed like everyone to lose to such a bad team yesterday, but i think we have to keep our eyes on the big picture: the floor of Raiola is about the same as the ceiling of a perennial powerhouse's starting QB.

We have to admit this season was the bare minimum of progress possible, which is disappointing. The fact that Rhule dumped Satterfield has me hopeful he's waking up to the urgency of change needed.

We finally get bowl game practices. We get an off-season to pitch to important skill players who are looking to transfer.

I'm not happy but I'm not ready to give up on them yet.

one more day of whining, then back to work monday morning

I agree that the special teams and recivers coach needs a changing..

but let holgerson and rhule pick the best out there..I'd be ok with the special teams bill guy that we had and mickey at wr..
apparently the secondary coach needs a good off season to get his nfl secondary in order.

besides that it just seems a matter of working on blocking, tackling, running, and receiving.
transferportal/recruiting.
there's no sence crying on a message board all day.

rhule will be given time to work to fix what pass coaches have failed to do...we have a bowl game now after 8 years of fail..
and 6 wins is better then 3....I look for 9 wins next year....3,,,6,,,9....
this is a upward pattern...
