SIAP ... Note the headline ... "Iowa vs. Nebraska score: Aided by late clock mishap, Hawkeyes hit game-winning field goal with backup kicker." Article states "The Hawkeyes were assisted by a major clock error..." Goes on to say the "it was a kick that he probably shouldn't have had time to attempt at all." Can't make up these officiating errors that have impacted Nebraska games. NU may or may not have won, but that type of error that impacted the game should get that crew fired. At a minimum, the Replay Official should have caught that and buzzed down.

Big Ten no longer offers an intriguing brand of football

I have watched very few Big Ten games this year outside of the Huskers every week, and a spattering of marque matchups. I’ll definitely tune into Ohio St and Michigan tomorrow.

But the majority of the teams are uninteresting, and I find myself watching the other leagues more and more.

Pac 12 has been fun to watch this year and has a lot of really good teams. Especially liked seeing USC and the Heisman hype train fall apart. SEC is still fun to watch most weeks and is only getting better adding Oklahoma.

Tonight, Texas vs Tech and Oregon vs OSU are a bigger draw than almost the entire Big Ten offering throughout the year.

Is anyone else with me? There is no parity in the league (Mich and OSU always at the top), the offenses are antiquated, and the weekly scheduling blows.

IMO of course.

Football ***OFFICIAL GAME THREAD: NEBRASKA-IOWA

Lowest point total in CFB history (-24.5) and Nebraska (-2.5) remains a slight home favorite today. (Per BetMGM, other books have it as 25.5 which is still the lowest)

Either way, let's get 'er going!

My prediction:
Nebraska 14
Iowa 11

Nebraska Offensive Player of the Game:
>>
Malachi Coleman
>> Breaks away for a 50+ yard TD, serving as the explosive play for a TD that I think the Huskers will need to find today

Nebraska Defensive POTG:
>> Luke Reimer
>> He'll have a season-high 8 total tackles today, 2.5 TFLs including 1.0 sack and a forced fumble. Reimer is No. 6 on Nebraska's all-time career tackles list (283) and he's five tackles away from moving into sole possession of 3rd. He's gonna pass some legends today:

3: Mike Brown (287)
4: Lavonte David (285)
5: Dedrick Young (284)

Observations

-quite a few people didn't show up or donated tickets to Hawkeye fans
-Ferentz had a better gameplan than Satterfield, their 5-10 yard drag routes were open all day
-Iowa TEs block way better than ours
-We have unimaginative WR routes..maybe because they can't separate then they quit on the route
-The O line has improved this year but still a major re-build
-the continued offensive confusion at the end of the half is worrisome
- #12 was adequate QB ...but is not a "dude". We need an additional capable D-1 QB
-there may be "buy-in".... but the program needs an exorcism or brain transplant . Deep down these players continue to doubt they'll win the game therefore they continue to lose close games

Here's to another long off-season. GBR
