Basketball Huskers Top Broncos, 79-69

Huskers Top Broncos, 79-69
Huskers.com

Juwan Gary had a team-high 21 points to lead three Huskers in double figures, as Nebraska advanced to the College Basketball Crown championship game with a 79-69 win over Boise State on Saturday.

Gary hit 7-of-12 shots from the field, including a career-high four 3-pointers and added nine rebounds and three blocked shots as Nebraska improved to 20-14 on the season.

Brice Williams added 14 points, a season-high six assists and five rebounds while Sam Hoiberg added 10 points, as Nebraska (20-14) shot 46 percent from the field and 12-of-19 from 3-point range. With the win, the Huskers secured consecutive 20-win seasons for the first time since the 1997-98 and 1998-99 seasons.

Nebraska will play UCF, a 104-98 overtime winner over Villanova, Sunday at 4:30 p.m. central. The game will be carried on FOX and the Husker Sports Network.

Nebraska took control of the game late in the first half, using a 15-1 spurt to turn a seven-point deficit into a lead they would not relinquish the rest of the game.

Trailing 26-19, 3-pointers from Hoiberg and Gary pulled the Huskers within one and started 15-1 Husker spurt, as Nebraska built a 34-27 lead after a Williams basket. Williams and Gary combined for 22 first-half points, as Nebraska went 6-of-9 from 3-point range and 9-of-10 from the foul line in the opening 20 minutes to build a 39-33 halftime lead.

Nebraska built on the lead, using an 8-2 run in the first 2:46 to stretch the lead to 49-37 after 3-pointers from Hoiberg and Gary forced a Bronco timeout.

Boise State, which got a game-high 26 from Tyson Degenhart, got to within 49-24 before a Morgan dunk and a 3-point play from Gary to stretch the lead to 12.

Nebraska eventually built a 74-59 lead after a Williams basket with 4:48 left, but Boise State (26-11) made one last run, the Broncos used an 8-0 run to pull to within seven after a RJ Keene jumper with 1:31 left.

Two Connor Essegian free throws pushed the leaf back to nine before a pair of Javan Buchanan free throws with 1:04 left, but could get no closer, as NU hit 3-of-5 foul shots in the final 1:03 to seal the win.

Paging RSS bankers - how can I afford this house?

http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/13688-River-Rd_Church-Hill_MS_39120_M71989-59844

There are no negotiations involved - I've been low-balling these folks for 2 years now. They want the asking price.

punchballs.gif

It literally abhors me to borrow money, but I've finally buckled...I want this place, regardless of the cost.

Income:

W-2: $172,000
Annual trust fund income: $142,000 (various oil and gas properties)
Rental property income: $261,000 (1,800 acres of planted cotton)

Expenses:

Annual mortgage payments on the cotton plantation: $29,103

Memphis condo is paid for. All vehicles are paid for. Only debt is the mortgage on the cotton farm, which is owed to a family trust.

There's another $45 million trust fund that kicks in on my mother's death (sounds morbid to mention it, but if it's relevant...)

If I put down, say, $1.4 million, could I get a bank to carry the remaining $2.1 million (assuming good credit, etc.)?

The property does not generate any income - it's basically an overpriced plantation residence.

I know this sounds dumb - I haven't borrowed money from a bank in >20 years. TIA for any guidance.

Rhule in year 3 at NU

Good artie.

In 25 some of NU's defensive stats were worse but I think that was because of White's tendency to give big plays on 3rd down. Rhule mentioned that toward the end of the season. If that improves those stats improve.
