Some Things are Forgivable; Some are Not

I will cut DR some slack. Some Frosh growing pains were inevitable. I could do without 3 INTs; and he did not play well at all today. I can forgive that.

What is not forgivable is the pathetic performance by the defense. The D bowed up 1 time - once - on the 4th down stop in the 1st quarter. You can count on one hand the other plays where the defense actually made things difficult for IU when it mattered. IU QBs are 24-30 as I write this. One of those incompletions was the meaningless INT at the end of the half. There were at least 2 drops by IU receivers - and there were 3 great catches that I recall where NU had good coverage. Aside from that, IU QB's were pitching to guys in open space all game long.

And, as I write this, IU is averaging 8 (EIGHT!!) yards per carry. JFC...someone get in the way! With two weeks to prepare, you should expect this veteran defense to be able to put up reasonable resistance. instead, they made IU look like they were running plays against their scout team.

Satterfield is what he thought he was

Probably time to bring up Satterfield again. As Satterfields ability continues to be EXACTLY what his career history was, it is becoming CRYSTAL CLEAR that Rhule will need to fire him or have him become his Achilles heel. Just is what it is. I think Rhule is excellent but will he hold on too long to relationships over execution?

Time will tell.

As a reminder of what Satterfield is……I’ll cut and paste my old post in here plus the edits.

Satterfields Husker bio doesn’t discuss rankings EVER. Not once for Total O or scoring. They call out GAMES where his QB threw for a bunch of yards. They compare the offensive numbers to teams of the past. But never against his peers in the form of a ranking. His bio reads like a politicians speech. Showing cherry picked data data to paint a picture of success that goes against what reality actually was.

Satterfields last two seasons of Total Offense RANKINGS at South Carolina.

2021 - 110 out of 130
2022 - 70 out of 130 (this was with current NFL QB Spencer Rattler)

First two seasons at Nebraska

2023 - 117th
2024 - Entered today at 78th. Will be around 87th after today.

exhibit B - He wasn’t being retained at S. Carolina before we took him. the people that know you best are telling the story. Satterfield did not receive an extension at the end of the 2021 season. All of the coaches did other than Satterfield and the O line coach. His 2022 season at South Carolina was to be his last. Getting paid $900k. We signed him for $1.4M when he didn’t even have a contract for 2023 at the $900k he was making.

OT: One for you tax experts

So I retired at the beginning of the year. I have a Roth that I’d like to pull the contributions from but I can’t find out how much that is. Fidelity can only go back 10 years and I can only find some of the years transcripts on the IRS website.
We’ve called them 3-4 times and been on hold for about an hour before they hang up. We have an in person appointment for next week with them but I’d prefer to get this information myself.
Any ideas?
No, I’m not giving you my SSN!
