Frankly, I'm not getting too worried that these WR recruits are dropping off. These guys were personally connected to Mickey, and it's pretty obvious that he won't be here.

That being said, the group that I would want to protect the most are the 5 guys who are OL and DL recruits. I think that there are some really good kids in that group who can develop into great players.

2018 - 5 guys left from the class that was being formed - Jurgens was the only good one

2015 - 9 guys left from the class that was being formed - 5 good players

2008 - 11 guys left from the class that was being formed - 5 good players

2004 - 6 guys left from the class that was being formed - 4 good players

And the seemingly low percentage of players who leave a program and truly find greener pastures or better opportunities. With portal transfers likely eclipsing 3,000 this off-season, I’d bet less than 10% find themselves in a better situation (or a more likely path to the NFL).

The attrition was sure to come with a coaching change, but it’s a little alarming to see some of the better young talent bailing. Haussmann is still hard to understand.

I think having a true metric of what that looks like playing out could be used as a tool to open some eyes and slow the flood of players we’ve seen moving around the country.

Would you actually be better off sticking around a program for 4-5 years, or looking for the easiest opportunity and starting over (some kids multiple times)? Of all the guys who have left Nebraska over the years, only a handful have truly hurt us, in hindsight.

@Steve Marik and I had a good time breaking down the six official assistant hires last night. Originally planned to only go 15-20 min but wound up talking for over 30 min because there was so much to unpack (and there was still more we could’ve discussed).

Most intriguing talking points for me were Marcus Satterfield as OC and the structure of how the secondary will be coached.

What allegedly happened over infidelity is awful (strangulation, closed fist punch, hair pulled out) and won’t ever be condoned.

It’s also out of our hands. I feel sorry for the victim and the kids. As for Mickey…man. I don’t know what to say really other than he wasn’t who we thought he was, and he will have to live with the consequences. I am glad we didn’t hire him for the head job.

Beyond that, this board is for fans of our program. None of us assaulted Priscilla Joseph. Rhule and his staff didn’t assault Priscilla Joseph. No one is condoning the reported assault on Priscilla Joseph.

I’ll say a prayer for all involved, but otherwise I am moving on.

He has pretty good numbers. He will be highly in demand I'm sure.

Seems changes need to be made with these NIL deals and the portal. It seems reasonable that NIL contracts be held binding with pay contingent on the player still being on the team and not transferring out with penalties paid if they do? With Crawford he made money off NIL and got a full year of free education and contributed nothing to the football team and is now transferring. Seems universities and businesses could avoid getting screwed and maybe provide these kids with more incentive to stay if they could lose money by transferring.

Wishful thinking but hoping since he is such a big name/hire, it’s taking time to iron the details of the contract. It’s being reported it is not going to be Phil Snow, who many thought would be the guy.

I will give Rhule the benefit of the doubt on his other hires, but it would be nice to get a big “splash” hire at a very key coordinator position.

In an expected move, Omarion Miller has left Nebraska's class.

Is he simply too tall/slow/whatever to play football? Or, is there hope he can get better under this new staff? I know he can't get worse.

I know some people on the board had mentioned him a time or two for the Husker job..

Still think he is a good hire and Sarkisian hasn’t proved enough yet that he’s the better decision between the two..

What happens IF (and it's purely hypothetical) MJ's wife decides not to press charges? Does MJ get a high paying job somewhere or is he still branded as an undesirable hire? IF that meant he could still get a job it might be in her self best financial interest to go that route and just press for a divorce?
