Recruiting Huskers to host in-state prospect committed to Pitt for an upcoming official visit

I spoke with Chris Peak, publisher of the Pitt Rivals site, and he let me know 2024 Papillion LaVista ATH Eric Ingwerson is planning to take an official visit to Nebraska the weekend of June 16.

The 6-foot-7, Ingwerson has an offer from the Huskers, but has been committed to Pitt since March.

Football Nebraska announces kickoff times, TV info for six games

Nebraska has officially released the kickoff times and TV info for six games – five of them are fully set with three options for one of the kickoff times:

Baseball Max Anderson and Brice Matthews named All-Americans by Collegiate Baseball

One of a few awards coming their way over the next few weeks, Max Anderson and Brice Matthews were named Collegiate Baseball All-Americans this morning as announced by the publication. Anderson was named to the second team after hitting .414 with 21 homers and 70 RBI while being an unanimous selection to the All-Big Ten First Team.

Matthews was a third-team honoree batting .359 with 20 home runs, 67 RBI while also being named to the All-Big Ten First Team. Matthews reached base safely in the first 52 games of the season which extended his streak to 55 dating back to last season. It was the longest streak by any Huskers since at least 1999.

RHP Paul Skenes was named National Player of the Year for LSU after leading the nation with 167 strikeouts with a fastball that reaches 102 mph.

2020 - Police violently broke up a peaceful and legal protest by thousands of people in Lafayette Park across from the White House, using chemical agents, clubs and punches to send protesters fleeing; the protesters had gathered following the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis a week earlier. President Donald Trump, after declaring himself "the president of law and order" and threatening to deploy the U.S. military in a Rose Garden speech, then walked across the empty park to be photographed holding a Bible in front of St. John's Church, which had been damaged a night earlier.

2022 - A Virginia jury ruled in favor of Johnny Depp in his libel lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard, vindicating his stance that Heard fabricated claims that she was abused by Heard and awarding him $15 million. But jurors also found in favor of Heard, who said she was defamed by Depp's lawyer when he called her abuse allegations a hoax, giving her $2 million.

2022 - A federal judge found that John Hinckley, who shot President Ronald Reagan in 1981, was "no longer a danger to himself or others" and should be freed. (Hinckley would be released two weeks later.)
