Mike Farrell: Fact or Fiction: Nebraska's QB Situation, Marvin Harrison Jr. Staying, George Helow to Bama

1. Matt Rhule is handling the Nebraska QB situation properly.

Farrell’s take: FACT

It’s risky to say no to Kyle McCord. After all, he won 11 games in the Big Ten last season, brings immediate experience, and can handle the pressure. But with 5-star Dylan Raiola set to commit, Rhule decided to go all in on youth. And now he’s kept Daniel Kaelin in this class as well which is somewhat remarkable, so he has two freshmen QBs next year. Chubba Purdy is also in the mix, so Nebraska lacks great experience but has youth and promise. There will be growing pains, but this is the right path.

Mike Farrell's Fact or Fiction

Everyone needs to calm down. We are going to land #1 Player in the Nation

In perfect world, we land all three QBs. But this not a perfect world. None of us know exactly what happened. I do know this...

If you have a chance to get the next Trevor Lawrence or Andrew Luck. You Do It. And don't apologize about it. Just look at the NFL. If you don't have a QB. You are doomed.

When this happens, it will send a 9.5 earthquake across the college football landscape. 2025 will start off with momentum. Trust me, Dylan has been to all the camps and done the work, they know exactly who he is, and they will listen.

I really hope that Danny Dimes sticks around. The NFL is going to grab Dylan in 3 years. Lincoln could be his Kingdom in 2027.

Also....I am donating to NIL. My Father loved Husker Football with all his heart. My daughter was born in 1996 and I want her to see what Nebraska Football is about when the stars align...

HUSKER POWER

Showtime.

Go Huskers!!!

Volleyball Game Thread ***LIVE THREAD: End of Huskers' season falls flat as Texas dominates, sweeps Nebraska for second straight national title

Updated w/ game story
Full game story with five thoughts on Huskers' loss and what the future looks like:

=================================

Updated postgame:

Texas sweeps Nebraska in absolutely dominant fashion (25-22, 25-14, 25-11). The No. 2 seed Longhorns (28-4) are back-to-back national champions after taking control from end-to-end today. Texas finished with 38 kills to 14 errors to Nebraska's 20 kills and 19 errors. Longhorns had 12 aces (Nebraska: 2) and hit .264 in the match. Nebraska finished with a .013 hitting percentage.

An absolute stunner for the Huskers (33-2) who lost both of their matches this season via sweeps to teams ranked in the top 5 of the final Top 25 rankings (No. 3 Wisconsin and No. 5 Texas).

Nebraska appeared to have some jitters right out of the gate but seemed to settle in throughout Set 1. It looked like Texas was the one imploding late in the first set as the Huskers pulled to within a 22-22 tie via 3-0 run on the back of Texas head coach Jerritt Elliott receiving a red card. But ... Texas rallied with three straight points to end it, and it dominated the rest of the way in Sets 2 and 3.

Huskers had their chance to wrestle control away but couldn't pull it off.

One more step to immortality for this already-historic Husker volleyball team. Opening up the thread a little early. Almost time for the ladies to ball!

Football After senior season setback, 2024 DB Rex Guthrie is as motivated as ever

Caught up with Rex Guthrie, an under-the-radar defensive back from Colorado who was recently visited by LB coach Rob Dvoracek and DC Tony White.

Guthrie didn't have the senior year he wanted, but a setback he sustained has motivated him to return stronger than ever. The Husker football program is getting one driven dude.
