Week 5 Survivor Pool

Insane that there was 405 ppl and I’m in the final 19.

Generally idgaf about any bets, but the winner gets $6700.

-Giants at (Seahawks)
-Saints at (Chiefs)
-Jets at (Vikings)

I’m thinking MNF Chiefs as of now, but love SEA at home where they prob don’t play against the referees. Is it me or is all football turning into a ref infiltrated game?!

Taking KC

Kinda fun to pick KC on MNF. Whatever, it’s on me. Root me me NEB fans. It’ll pay for 4 months of daycare 😉

Football Tommi Hill & Stefon Thompson injury updates, Javin Wright's emotional return & All-Big Ten Bullock

Updates and thoughts from Matthew Kenneth Rhule on Monday ahead of Nebraska-Rutgers:

>> Tommi Hill & Stefon Thompson injury updates
>> Javin Wright and his emotional return to the field
>> John Bullock playing like an All-Big Ten LB ... with the numbers to prove it

Football Everything Matt Rhule said about Big Ten officiating in Nebraska-Purdue

Nebraska: 9 penalties for 89 yards
Illinois: 3 penalties for 20 yards

Nebraska: 11 penalties for 94 yards*
Purdue: 13 penalties for 165 yards

*including one egregious call that wiped out a TD + an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Matt Rhule.

After all of it, Rhule had enough and did something rare … he didn’t wait his typical 48 hours after the game to address any issues with officiating on Monday (like he did in last year’s Michigan State game).

Here’s everything Rhule said about the Big Ten officiating in Saturday’s win over Purdue:

Football ***Micah Mazzccua: Matt Rhule updates status of Nebraska's top offensive guard

Rhule said in the Purdue postgame presser that he would provide more details about Micah Mazzccua on Monday. Certainly not the entire story, but here are the "more details" ...

What is our "Mendoza" line for FGs?

Going forward at what distance should we be going for it on 4th down? Outside the 20? Less than 4th and 10? We are ahead by 7 or more?

At what point does Rhule throw analytics out the door and go with the odds that Raiola at 4th and 8 from the 23 YL is a better option than kicking a FG?

I wonder how that will affect how we get defended? Let's say we are 3rd and 11 from the 32 will an opposing DC give up something that lets them only get it to. 4th and 3 from the 24? They might do it anyway....but knowing we aren't even 50% kicks has to enter into a DC's mind.

Rutgers D vs the run in their last 3 games

Akron starting RB went 9 carries for 109 with a TD for an average of 12.1 per carry

VTech starting RB went 15 carries for 122 and 3 TDs for an average of 8.1 per carry

Washington starting RB went 16 carries for 148 yards with no TDs for an average of 9.3 yards per carry.

All three games the RB almost had first down yardage for the average per carry. Super surprised on this.

Side Note-UW also threw for over 300+ yards, and compiled 522 total yards total. That was 222 yards more than Rutgers, and also didn’t lose the TO battle, yet still lost.

Point I’m making is maybe that Schiano highly touted D isn’t as great as we think and maybe we come out and put 4 quarters together and smoke these guys!

I have a legit question. Does Satterfield know how to run the ball?

I know nothing of his past except a few SC fans who was happy to see him leave. After watching his game plans this year, he runs it when the plays are scripted then bails on it after that. Running the ball is a mindset and takes patience. By the second quarter it is almost extinct. Great for DR padding his stats but horrible for future games.

I may be wrong, and probably am, but this team does not know how to force their will on any team.

Stuff I heard

Remember this is just stuff that is passed on to me. It might or might not be true.

We might be playing a team from Illinois in the near future.

Some recruits might be interested in us. A few will probably commit to us, but some others probably won’t.

There might be a few players who aren’t 100% health wise. Some more than others but just really vague stuff.

There is definitely something in the works that will be announced sometime down the road but no specific information.

I will post anything else that comes up.
