From an OSU DB re: Satterfield

After the game, Hancock explained what he saw on that play and it's unlikely going to make fans feel better about the job Satterfield did on Saturday.

“It was a relief for sure. The defense was out there fighting. I saw they were repeating older routes. After watching film, I noticed what they were doing and I didn’t really get depth on the post, so I just stayed there. The ball felt like it took 20 seconds to get to me even though it was only two seconds, but overall, it was awesome.”

High school shit at 1.4 million dollars.

Lying about Sex

This is the analogy to all of the folks on this board the past 18 hours who are screaming "there are no moral victories", "a loss is a loss", bla, bla, bla. It's the same bullshit as people who do the testosterone laced "we'll take on anyone anywhere anytime" crap or fraternity guys lying about sex.

But from the perspective of someone who's been a big fan for about 55 years and one who rode the wave of fun until the 2000s and has suffered the crap ever since, yesterday was one big, massive, big titted relief over what I feared would be the fate of our program after the debacle at Indiana. This team has the talent and now apparently the will to move to a higher level, make that elusive bowl game, and move on to better things. Right after the Indiana game, I was again worried that we again made the wrong coaching choice, and while I think that Rhule needs to rethink his OC after the season, I'm again confident that we have the right guy at the helm.

Recruiting is not where it should be yet, but it's getting better. The story will be told when Rhule's players are all in the game.

REDSHIRTING

Didn't realize it started at Nebraska in 1937 ! What !! Served us and others through the years but I'm wondering if , with these kids coming in to programs already "men" and ready to go , it's as necessary or even dependable . We've had some who never get much playing time due to lack of skill or whatever & we've waisted a scholarship . What are your thoughts on this my learned friends. !

Four months ago I stated this team would be 5-3 going into the UCLA game...

And my point here is not about being correct. That was easy and obvious to anyone who understands football.

But I'm starting this thread to point out the reasons why I said this team would be 5-3 after 8 games:

1. Raiola is a true freshman. He was always going to make mistakes, some maddening, but the dude is stil making more great plays than bad ones. I also stated there would be fans calling him out by mid season. And that's because fans like @Florida Big Red and @Trickyoxx01 are really stupid people.

2. When the rest of the fanbase was all giddy about Banks and Neyor, I brought up that it doesn't make sense to be excited about these dudes. They are truly upgrades from 2023, but one dude was benched at Texas because he was their 6th best option, and nobody should ever be excited about a part time starter from the ACC. Its a shit conference where offensive numbers are completely overblown due to shitty defense played by 90% of the league.

3. Special teams were going to be a mess. But kudos to Hohl this week. We should probably be thinking about hiring Brett Maher. His intervention in the last 3 weeks has helped the kicking game dramatically.

This team has always been a 6 to 7 to 8 win team. That is their ceiling. And its ok. Have some patience.

- Get rid of the OC
- spend some cash on skill talent
- continue to develop the younger linemen and defenders.

I see a dynamic light at the end of this tunnel. This team will likely win 7 game going into a Bowl game. They will probably win 8 or 9 games next season. And they will have one of the most experienced teams in the country by 2026.

Calm the fvck down.

Lincoln - The Nebraska men’s basketball team used a 30-6 run over a 10-minute span, as the Huskers cruised to a 73-53 win over Grand Valley State at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Nebraska broke open a 28-all deadlock late in the first half by scoring seven of the last nine points of the half before clamping down on the defensive end. The Huskers forced Grand Valley State into missing 14 of its first 15 shots from the floor in the first nine minutes of the half as Nebraska built a 58-34 lead after a Gavin Griffiths’ 3-pointer.

Griffiths led Nebraska with 14 points, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, while Brice Williams added 13 markers, as Nebraska shot 50 percent from the field and turned 19 GVSU turnovers into 21 points. Griffiths had 11 of his 14 points in the spurt to help break the game open.

Nebraska, which never trailed, had 13 steals, including three from Rollie Worster and two apiece from Juwan Gary and Berke Büyüktuncel, who led Nebraska with 12 rebounds in 19 minutes of work.

Nebraska got off to a great start and closed the half on 7-2 run over the final two minutes of the half to take a 35-30 lead into the locker room. NU shot 50 percent from the floor and turned eight Grand Valley State turnovers into 13 first-half points.

The Huskers got off to a quick start, jumping out to an 11-3 lead, as Juwan Gary had five points and a pair of assists in the spurt to force an early timeout. Grand Valley State battled back and pulled even at 28 after a Shamus Thompson free throw with 2:05 left in the half.

Griffiths then broke the deadlock with a 3-pointer before two free throws from William Dunn made it a one-point game. NU then got baskets from Ahron Ulis and Williams to close the half with a five-point lead. Nebraska opened the second half with a 9-2 run as Williams’ 3-pointer and two baskets from Worster gave NU a 12-point lead and the Huskers cruised from there.

Mason Docks led Grand Valley State with seven points, as Grand Valley State shot 28 percent, including 17 percent in the final 20 minutes.

HCMR is 2-21 vs Top 25

That’s HCMR’s record vs top 25 over his career. I love the guy and don’t want him gone yet but wow it’s hard to argue vs career numbers. Not sure where the light at the end is. We don’t look better vs LY. We don’t look better vs earlier in the year. We don’t look good coming off a bye. Our best players are getting worse. We honestly don’t look great at acquiring the right talent in the portal, which you have to be n this day in age. Both WRs are very poor.

I would say it’s safer to say MR doesnt turn the ship around to a team that competes for Big Ten titles and instead course correct to Nebraska being at best Pelini level success. 9-3 with 3 losses to the best three teams we play. It doesn’t take 3 years to rebuild. Cignette just proved that at a school that only loses in football historically. The Temple turn around is almost not relevant to Big Ten competition.

Hope to God I eat all the crow out there and we beat Wisconsin Iowa and both LA schools but I just don’t see that. Team quiet today. The ra ra shit is stale.

How did you meet your significant other?

Met my now 6 months GF online arguing in a music forum lol ... but it's going really, really good ... been 7 years since I've tried this again (divorced) so pray for me haha.

Happy Saturday - it was still a good game I swear it - and Rhule's post game nearly had me in tears - he is here fore the LONG haul and we are going to get back to blue blood level play, I Just know it (But still, why not pray it again).

sleep well fellas (and @BigRedGal :))
