And my point here is not about being correct. That was easy and obvious to anyone who understands football.
But I'm starting this thread to point out the reasons why I said this team would be 5-3 after 8 games:
1. Raiola is a true freshman. He was always going to make mistakes, some maddening, but the dude is stil making more great plays than bad ones. I also stated there would be fans calling him out by mid season. And that's because fans like @Florida Big Red and @Trickyoxx01 are really stupid people.
2. When the rest of the fanbase was all giddy about Banks and Neyor, I brought up that it doesn't make sense to be excited about these dudes. They are truly upgrades from 2023, but one dude was benched at Texas because he was their 6th best option, and nobody should ever be excited about a part time starter from the ACC. Its a shit conference where offensive numbers are completely overblown due to shitty defense played by 90% of the league.
3. Special teams were going to be a mess. But kudos to Hohl this week. We should probably be thinking about hiring Brett Maher. His intervention in the last 3 weeks has helped the kicking game dramatically.
This team has always been a 6 to 7 to 8 win team. That is their ceiling. And its ok. Have some patience.
- Get rid of the OC
- spend some cash on skill talent
- continue to develop the younger linemen and defenders.
I see a dynamic light at the end of this tunnel. This team will likely win 7 game going into a Bowl game. They will probably win 8 or 9 games next season. And they will have one of the most experienced teams in the country by 2026.
Calm the fvck down.
